Piano, guitar and theory of music lessons for beginners and intermediate players

As a Master’s student in medical biology, I have been playing piano and guitar for 18 years. I can explain to you the musical theory that allows you to understand a piece on which you want to improvise or to understand the idea behind the composition of a piece. I can find you the chords of any song or piece and I have examples of songs whose chords search is particularly interesting. I can teach you classical music and jazz.
I use a piano that provides an automated and complete accompaniment, that is to say that we can play as with a band with a drummer and musicians of any style. This is very convenient.
I also have recordings of impro funk or hip-hop patterns that are what you might call "fire" to learn to improvise with pleasure.
I took classes at the school of jazz and current music for about ten years and had some bands, concerts and jams at the university. I was also a member of the Lausanne University Choir.
For many years, I made self-taught classical music in parallel with jazz lessons.

About Me

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
I love music and its teaching. I had a lot of trouble understanding some simple things in music and I can empower students to quickly get to a desired level of music.
Music is a "science" you could say. Talking about it never bores me and, on the contrary, stimulates me.

The teacher was great in all manners
I adapt to the student after offering him various possibilities: making quiet or aggressive rallies, training the serve, training a particular shot, etc. I have a lot of practical advice that I happily give. I can improve the student's game by sending him precise and good quality balls. I started tennis at 8 years old, which makes the sport like a second skin, my shots look natural. I know how to play with a lot of spin or very little. I can teach you how to give a lot of spin (lift) to your forehand for example. I learned tennis at the Stade-Lausanne club in Vidy, of which I was a member for around twenty years.

Naomj
Piano teacher, gives private piano and music theory lessons for all ages and levels.
I studied in Italy at the Conservatory of Music in Pesaro and I finished my piano studies with the maximum points. Currently I have a duo with a violinist and we play regularly in concert and at the same time I teach and transmit my passion to those who want to learn it. I taught for 3 years in Rome in public and private music schools and currently I teach at the International School of Geneva. My students have often participated in piano competitions and have always achieved excellent results. My lessons are adapted according to the progress and desires of each student. The duration of the lessons is not standard because I make sure that the student does not finish without having fully understood the topics explained during the lesson. A part of music theory and solfeggio is planned.

Constantin
Beginner and intermediate piano lessons in Lausanne and the surrounding area. Music theory lessons included.
Trained at the conservatory, I offer piano lessons for beginners and intermediate students, with an approach that is both educational and fun. My goal is to help each student learn to play the piano from a score, while integrating music theory lessons throughout the lessons. Each class is designed to be enjoyable and motivating, especially for children: I ensure that music remains a pleasure, adapting the pieces to the tastes and level of the student. Through progressive exercises and gentle learning, I give them confidence on the keyboard while developing their musical ear and their independence. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact me

Andrew
Gives piano lessons in jazz / improvisation / classical / pop / harmony
My classes are aimed at all levels, from beginner to experienced. I try to adapt to everyone's tastes and to stimulate the student's curiosity by approaching different styles. In a class, I approach instrumental technique, harmony, rhythm, composition, improvisation, all through the prism of a repertoire adapted to the student (classical, Jazz, Pop...) and the sharing of my experience. A professional pianist for over 10 years, I have been able to play in many major festivals and renowned stages with different groups (Erik Truffaz, Shems Bendali, Louis Matute, Gypsy Sound System, Lady Bazaar). I also lead projects in which I compose (AA trio, The Big Tusk)

Heddy
Piano and music theory teacher. Graduated from ABRSM London. 15 years of practice. Beginners and Intermediates who wish to persevere
I base my lessons on the alliance between learning music theory and practicing the instrument. This allows for interactive teaching. My lessons are usually in 1 hour; even 1 hour 30 depending on the relative intensity of each. I am demanding with my students but without pressure. I want to teach this discipline to make it a passionate way of life. I am a student in a double music-studies course. I started music when I was 5 and participated in international competitions. I had the honor of participating in important regional concerts in France and Tunisia. Having obtained 2 diplomas recognized by the Royal Schools of Music, I want to pursue my passion which is to teach ambitious young people and to make them as passionate as me.

Cédric
Piano lessons in Lausanne in private or semi-private.
Program First of all, the discovery of the instrument and its multiple possibilities of sound and musical expression, through the repertoire and improvisation. Next comes the development of the pupil's musicality and the acquisition of the instrumental bases, which will, in a later phase, be deepened to finally develop the pupil's autonomy and personality. Objectives and skills Adaptation of the body to the instrument - development of a natural position on the piano Coordination of gestures, position and independence of the hands. Listening development - learning to listen to your own play and that of others Development of the sense of rhythm - simple rhythm on a pulsation at the beginning, towards a refinement of precision Phrase and musical breathing Play in public Musical expression, improvisation Sight reading (music theory) Regarding this last point, it is important to specify that with Apolline, music theory is integrated into the instrument lesson, sparingly and in a manner consistent with the subject studied by the child. Thus, theory sticks to practice and becomes digestible and interesting. Learning music with Apolline How to leave the usually rigid framework of the first years of musical learning that is found in most schools in Switzerland? Based in Lausanne, Apolline has a different philosophy. Rather than offering children and adolescents to learn in individual lessons, lessons in small groups - from 2 to 3 students, depending on the instrument - are highlighted. Working in a group offers many advantages to beginners or inexperienced students. Apolline offers her students the possibility of joining a group workshop, in addition to the basic instrument course, so that they can play with other musicians of their age. Accompanied by a teacher, they will learn to play in groups, through covers or their own compositions.

Lydia
Piano Lessons in Classical and Contemporary Styles for Beginning-Advanced Levels (ages 6 and up)
Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.
