Hello! My name is William and I am offering 1-1 conversational English language tutoring aimed at people who wish to improve their confidence, pronunciation and expand their vocabulary or phrases in English. We can pick conversational areas that you wish to improve your confidence in; whether it’s discussing current affairs, preparing for an interview, or chatting about the weather. Perhaps you would like to improve your British pronunciation or phrases; we can work to get you speaking “the Queen’s English”!

I can offer a remote consultation to identify your language goals and for you to get a feeling for whether working with me feels right. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to talk it through. I am very happy to meet either remotely, wherever you are in the world; or in-person in the A-B zones of Helsinki, if you happen to live there.

About me: I was born and raised in the UK. I moved to Helsinki two and a half years ago to raise my children in its peaceful surroundings, and pursue a PhD. I love to meet new people from all walks of life and backgrounds.
Professionally in the UK I was an Assistant Psychologist who worked with children and adults, and also in research. I have an MSc in Psychology and a BA in Philosophy. My passions are for History, Philosophy, Psychology, and current affairs; and of course my two children!

Hello,

My name is Santiago and I am offering individual and personalized virtual English classes to improve both your oral and written communication. The main focus of my classes is focused on developing fluent and structured communication of the English language either to prepare international exams, including the TOEFL and the FCE, or to be able to communicate properly in the professional field or to reinforce and maintain prior knowledge of this language.

I am a graduate, graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in the USA. Having learned English as a child at the Ivy Thomas Memorial School in Uruguay, and lived a year and a half in Thailand, followed by 4 years in the USA I acquired great knowledge and fluency in the English language.

In Thailand I spent a year and a half studying communication arts, which helped me, prepare for my studies in the US. I had several communication classes, learning techniques of how to speak better using not only our words but also our body to help us speak more naturally, calmly, and without getting nervous if we get stuck or forget what we wanted to say. During my career in the US, I was constantly writing essays for my classes, in addition to having to present projects in front of my teachers and classmates. At the same time, I was working at university and after graduation I worked for a year, mainly having long phone conversations with people from all over the country.

Nowadays the ability to communicate in English is essential and I am going to prepare you so that you can meet your goals. It could be, studying abroad, going to live in an English-speaking country, improving your communication in the professional field, or keep practicing so as not to lose the previously acquired level.
