I am a Violinist that has recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK. I perform regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician and very much enjoy teaching a wide range of different generations.

I am dedicated into inspiring the next generation of musicians and help them find their love for music just as much as I do.

I am a fluent English and German speaker so happy to teach in either languages.

I am also available for basic music theory lessons.

Often considered a tiresome burden, music theory is to music what grammar is to language. It is a tool, a code that allows us to understand how our language works. Whether you're using words or notes, it's the same!
This is why it is important to learn music theory pragmatically, keeping in mind that it is here to help us understand different musical languages, not at all to impose strict rules. In fact, it would be unthinkable to learn the grammar of a language without ever seeing its relevance in everyday practice!

About me:
As a 25 year old pianist / drummer / composer / sound engineer / electronic producer / DJ, I offer my help to learn music theory and solfeggio, both in harmony and rhythm.
Currently a 3rd year student in Sound at INSAS, I studied musicology at ULB, and I practice music on a daily basis, whether as a pianist (improvisation, composition, learning jazz and classical pieces) or as a sound engineer and beatmaker.
Some information about my musical background:
- currently in my last year of piano studies (academy of Etterbeek)
- member of the jazz ensemble of the Forest academy (2nd year)
- regular concerts and composition in MAO (computer assisted music) for 7 years (mainly hip-hop)
- 7 years of private drum lessons + Brazilian percussion lessons (batucada)
- completed musical training (Etterbeek Academy, 4 years)
- 3 years of music writing and analysis courses in academy
- solo DJ as well as for a hip-hop group
- recording and mixing as a sound engineer as part of my studies and outside: music, cinema, sound creation, etc

The course:
Depending on your wishes and / or needs, we can orient the course towards different facets of music theory. Whether it's harmony, rhythm, analysis or sight-reading; whether your objective is knowledge, composition, improvisation or the practice of an instrument, I can adapt to you!
The first lesson is usually dedicated to assessing the student's level of knowledge and skills, and to establish together a draft programme for the following lessons.
The idea is to progress at your own pace, in a good mood!

This course is mainly intended for people starting out in music.

In my piano lessons, I work with each student to discover their musical personality. Giovanna raised and formed in Florence, where she began her guitar studies at the age of five at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. In September, she graduated cum laude and she's currently enrolled in the Master’s program at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, studying with Antigoni Goni.

Winner of many international competitions, she performed plenty of times in Italy and in 2023 she has held a solo concert in Milan for the XXXVIII Società Umanitaria's concerts season. Next to renowned guitarists, such as Luigi Attademo and Giorgio Albiani, she performed the world premiere of Álvaro Company’s Concert Català for ten guitars, in the revision by Vincenzo Saldarelli.

Alongside her performing activity, Giovanna has developed a strong dedication to teaching adults, children, and teenagers. She tailors each learning path to the individual student, carefully balancing personal interests with technical and artistic development, whether for amateur musicians or students preparing for conservatory admission. Her teaching approach places particular emphasis on physical awareness and well-being, guiding students toward healthy and efficient use of the body while playing. Music theory is fully integrated into her lessons and is always connected to practical application on the instrument.
