Violin and Music theory lessons for amateurs and pro

I'm an italian professional violinist graduated in the Hochschule der Kunste in Bern and a member of Argovia philharmonic, Sinfonietta Lausanne and City Light Symphony Orchestra. I teach children and adults from beginner to advanced level. My classes are for everyone! I adapt my teaching method to every student's profile, wish and need in order to learn faster and improve violin skills having fun. We can choose the repertoire together, from classical to modern and popular music. I have more than 7 years of teaching experience, I speak italian, english and spanish.

I give lessons or music theory support in Basel and its surroundings. All ages and all levels. I like to share my passion in a relaxed atmosphere! I am an oboe, a professional musician and graduated from the Lausanne University of Music in pedagogy.

As a student in the Master Musikpädagogik at the Hoschule für Musik in Basel, I teach harp lessons for all levels and all ages. I build my teaching on the basis of the progressive acquisition of instrumental technique and the development of creativity and musicality. I propose a wide repertoire, ranging from classical music to current music, through jazz, folk song and traditional music (Celtic, South America etc ...). For beginners in music, I integrate theoretical points of reading notes, rhythm, musical knowledge, always related to the instrument and the repertoire worked. The pleasure of playing is, in my opinion, an essential element for successful music learning. That's why I first want to know the motivations and goals of my students to adapt my method to their expectations.

Singer trained at the Schola Cantorum of Basel (from medieval chant to the 20th century), I offer a general singing course: basic vocal technique (posture, breath work, sound work), discovery of different repertoires (depending on the student's tastes; pop repertoires also possible), work on interpretation. I can accompany the student on the keyboard. I work with people of all ages, beginners or not. The goal is to progress in a climate of trust. You can also contact me for music theory lessons only (reading notes and rhythm, deciphering, notions of music theory, ear work). I finally give piano lessons to beginners. I can give the course in French or English, German and Spanish are also possible. Lessons can take place at my home or at the student's home.

As a violinist for 21 years now, 12 years at the conservatory and 9 years as a private teacher, I offer quality lessons adapted to your level. We'll focus on technique (scales, etudes) but we'll also look at a few tricks to improve your playing. It's advisable to do some music theory on the side to be able to read notes and rhythm properly. I can help you with that too. I'm very patient and gentle. I can come to your place, but I can also give lessons by videoconference.

In my theory classes we’ll look at the fundamentals of rhythm, pitch, solfège, intervals, key signatures, cadences, and other important groundwork whose rigorous study we can then apply to real-life examples of music, helping you acquire a sharper analytical ear. Orchestral musician and chamber musician, holder of a double master's degree in pedagogy and performance in France and abroad, I would be happy to accompany you on the way to learning violin. With 15 years of experience, I teach musical initiation, music theory and the viola that I have practiced in chamber music and of course the violin, my main instrument with which I perform in several orchestras and ensembles. My name is Ane, a violinist from the Basque Country. After completing my bachelor's degree in violin at the Basel University of Music with Prof. Barbara Doll, I am now excited to begin my master's degree in violin pedagogy. Teaching has always been an important part of my musical vocation: I enjoy providing individual support to each student, adapting to their tempo, and helping them discover the joy of playing and expressing themselves with their instrument. My training and orchestral experience have given me a broad musical perspective, but what motivates me most now is passing on this knowledge in a practical and personal way. In my teaching, I emphasize a balance between technique, musicality, and creativity, so that playing the violin is not just a challenge, but also an enriching and enjoyable experience.

My name is Léna, and I offer violin lessons for all ages and skill levels. I have many years of experience in private instruction and am currently completing my Master of Pedagogy at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FHNW) in Basel. I particularly enjoy the duality of learning: building a solid foundation and working on technique, which ultimately allows one to experience complete freedom and joy on the instrument. I personally find the balance between the two by working according to the principles of the Alexander Technique and paying attention to physical health and the sustainability of playing. I implement this in my teaching; I find it very important to tailor the lessons, exercises, and method closely to the goals and personality of the students. I also have a master's degree in violin with an old scale, which I completed at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Early music is my other great passion, so there's always the opportunity to learn about historical performance practice! After more than 23 years of playing this wonderful instrument, the freedom of music still inspires me and keeps me going. I look forward to accompanying you on your musical journey!
