With both a master's degree in management sciences and a bachelor's degree in computer technology, I currently work as a network engineer in a company in Brussels. Passing on knowledge has always been a passion of mine since high school where I helped my classmates as much as I could. I first identify which points are problematic in order to increase the efficiency of the courses. Then, depending on the student's requests and difficulties, I re-explain certain poorly understood theoretical concepts and solve exercises with him. For the theory, I make sure to explain the material as I would have liked to have been explained to me during my studies and I review the points of the course from new angles in order to facilitate understanding. For the exercises, I first let the student suggest his method of solving because each problem can be approached in several ways and it is much more productive to start from the student's ideas. I favor understanding by heart because I consider that memorization is only rarely necessary in math and science. Once the material is perfectly assimilated, we retain it much longer than if we study it without understanding it. My engineering studies allowed me to better link the abstract concepts of mathematics and science to concrete problems. If the student needs it, I can therefore easily give many visual and intuitive examples in order to speed up understanding. I am at the last here of my phd in theoretical physics at KU Leuven. In the last four years I have been teaching assistant in several classes of the master degree in physics. My goal in teaching is to drive the student to a full understanding of the sabject. No matter how difficult a physics or math problem looks like, if you unferstand it, you solve it and maybe even start to like it!And if you understand it, you learn! Hello dear parents! Imagine if someone could make math fun. At all levels, make it interesting to learn and always work on their fundamentals. No matter how much more they learn, the aim with my classes is to make kids smart overall and not just math. I do this by giving them examples in languages they understand, using examples they understand. For example, I can explain linear equations with making cookies or using football. I explained graphical equations using body building and gym To illustrate. I explain percentages using race car statistics and drag races. Or speaking of trigonometry using fortnite and Minecraft!! I try to make sure your kids are less dependent on their calculators and use their brains instead. The focus is on getting them to be smart outside of math, in life too! With the ability to have a one on one time with your kid, I patiently explain math and other subjects to them in a way they understand. Kids learn and most importantly stop fearing math when they see it's easy! Trust me, kids are super smart these days. They don't need a tutor, they really need a cheer leader! I'm happy to be that cheer leader for them!
