I will help with any relaxation, placement, strain issues you may have and extend your range and give you resonance and power. If you have any health issues that may affect your voice I can give you advice and guidance, special exercises , yoga routines etc - having suffered myself from GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) and a resulting small vocal node in the past, and having dealt with various health issues - despite which I have managed to still work as a singer! I can teach you to: - Improvise and write songs. - Develop your expression. - Develop your technique without losing your own unique sound. - Extend your range to at least 3 octaves (sometimes even 4!) - Breath control and control of your entire range. - Sing in a variety of techniques and styles- become a versatile singer! - Basic guitar/keyboard skills if requested. - Music Theory lessons upon request. My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborated with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. My main goal is to help the student discover her or his voice while enjoying making music. No experience is needed, just bring your enthusiasm and favorite music. In our Oud class, I will guide you through everything from basic to advanced techniques. We will cover playing for all levels, correct left-hand use, synchronizing with the right hand, handling the pick, tuning the Oud, and effectively using a tuner and metronome. While some students prefer to jump straight into playing songs, understanding the fundamentals of music notation accelerates progress in the long run.
