My lessons are heavily tailored to the needs and interests of my students, whether that be learning to write/edit/improve lyrics and melodies, a crash course in music theory, putting chord progressions together, finishing songs and developing productive routines, or adding some accountability and objective feedback to your process.

Working as a professional songwriter and studying MA Songwriting has equipped me with a wealth of tools to sharpen the technical craft of a song and to harness the creative process to bring the best out of other songwriters. In lessons, I draw from this to help new writers develop their own unique voices.

I'm a big believer in constantly writing and sharing so I like to set weekly briefs to encourage you to write in new ways and then give detailed and constructive feedback that will help you grow. I know from experience that sharing new songs can be unnerving so I take a lot of care helping people overcome this hurdle.

Outside of classes, I'm open to discuss songs, technique, career goals, co-writing, learning resources, and other topics that will help you develop as a songwriter.

I'm a professional songwriter with over nine years writing experience and countless co-writes in the tank. I regularly write with artists in the UK, around Europe, and in the US and have recently started taking my first production clients. As a writer, I'm primarily concerned by the lyric, form and structure side of writing but, with guitar as my main instrument, also usually write the majority of the musical elements.

My specialities are in alt-pop, indie-rock, acoustic pop, and folk but also have experience in RnB and country.

Présentation
I'm a friendly professional songwriter with seven years of writing experience and countless co-writes in the tank. As a writer, I'm primarily concerned by the lyric and craft side of writing but, as often as not, also compose musical elements.

My specialties are in folk, Americana, pop/rock, and country but am also experienced in R&B, soul, rap, and indie-rock.
Education
MA Songwriting - The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance - Distinction
BA English and American Studies - Loughborough University - 2:1
A Level Business Studies, Economics, English Literature, Modern History.
AS Level Citizenship and Sociology
Expérience / Qualifications
I've recently finished a Songwriting Masters' at ICMP in London, for which I received a Distinction, and am currently co-writing with a diverse range of artists for a number of professional projects.

In my Major Repertoire Project at the end of the course, I studied the roles played by the co-writer in writing sessions and this gave me a great insight into the collaborative process and equipped me to be a better-rounded collaborator.

In 2017 I completed my BA (Hons) in English and American Studies which gave me a solid foundation for lyric writing and my time as an editor on the student magazine gave me a sharp eye for song editing.

I'm a firm believer in tailoring the lessons to the needs and interests of the student to ensure they make progress in the right direction whilst staying interested and challenged. This means that I'm interested in finding out how you want lessons to go, whether that be learning your favourite songs, learning new chords, studying technical skills, understanding scales, or something completely different.

My lessons are appropriate for beginner to intermediate students and I also teach songwriting and music theory lessons for those interested in learning.

Outside of classes, I'm open to discuss songs, technique, career goals, co-writing, learning resources or whatever else will help you develop as a musician.

I'm a professional songwriter, guitarist, and producer who has been playing since the age of six and have experience in an array of styles but predominantly focus on folk, indie-rock, pop, country, and R&B.

I'm an experienced tutor who has taught scores of students with a range of abilities, interests, ages, and backgrounds.

I have instructed students of different age groups in saxophone performance and music theory (including counterpoint, harmony and composition) up until university level, in Spain and the UK. After graduating from Cambridge with a double starred first, taking into consideration my academic results and teaching experience, I have also been selected for inclusion in the Supervisor Registry to teach counterpoint and harmony papers. My approach to lessons is very flexible, and I always try to adapt to the needs and qualities of each student. I believe that communication is essential, and at the beginning of each lesson I ask my students if they found my recommendations from the previous lesson helpful and how they see their progress. After this spoken introduction, we proceed to work on some warm-up and technical exercises. Then, we play some studies and pieces, or go over some music theory exercises, trying to apply the advice from the previous lesson and make further improvements. Finally, we conclude the lesson with a summary, listing the main key points and suggestions and comparing our experience to the previous lessons, trying to find a clear sense of progression and a coherent line of work towards a certain goal. This teleological mindset occupies a central position in my methodology, and I always encourage my students to look ahead and plan a series of stimulating events or challenges to look foward to, such as a concert, a recital, a presentation or an exam.

My name is Andrea, I have recently concluded my Artist's Master in keyboard instruments at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. My passion for music induced me to apply in the “Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria” in the course of Harpsichord as my principal study. After 10 years studying music and obtaining the diploma of “Grado de Enseñanzas Profesionales” in the conservatory, I developed a deep interest for Classical and Early music for keyboard instruments.

Discovering a historical and musical universe, I decided to continue my performing and theoretical investigation studying the bachelor course in keyboard instruments including piano, harpsichord and organ. I had the amazing opportunity to obtain a scholarship and study at the "Conservatorio Tartini di Trieste", in Italy. Working with exceptional teachers, i was able expand my linguistic abilities and cultural appreciation for the expressive diversity of Keyboard music. I have discovered the magnificent variety between many composers all around Europe and the distinct features and techniques they utilized to improvise and to embellish their pieces. During this artistic journey, i have had extraordinary performance experiences as a soloist including playing at the Parlament of Brussels and the National Gallery in Bosnia. Recently, living in London has inspired me to take part in a wide variety of exciting projects such as performing as a keyboard accompanist in Opera Scenes and with the Guildhall Baroque Orchestra in the Milton Court Concert Hall.
