I have been teaching Swahili for over 12 years. . I enjoy sharing knowledge with my students and watching them gain confidence in holding conversations in Swahili and seeing them able to read and write is very fulfilling. I know students are different so i use different methods of teaching to ensure that they all understand I would describe my teaching style as fun and patient. My goal as a teacher is to meet the requests of the students and understand what they aim to achieve so the lessons are customized to the student's concerns. I teach pronunciation, grammar, and conversational skills.

This course is for anyone who wants to learn Swahili. Swahili is a very common language in Africa and it will be very useful for those who travel there, especially in the region of the great lakes. This course focuses mainly on grammar and oral communication to allow students to express themselves correctly quickly. Reading/writing is very close to speaking and is learned quickly. The objective of my course is to give students the opportunity to experience this language. So I try to help students project themselves into Swahili culture through dialogue, music and poetry. Depending on the progress and experience of the student, a trip to East Africa is strongly recommended to complete the knowledge acquired during these courses. This immersion will give the student the opportunity to experience, if only for a moment, the magic of the region where Swahili comes from.

I am a native speaker of Swahili willing to teach anyone interested in getting to know the language.
