Hello, my name is Anastasia, I have a TEFL certificate, which is teaching English as a foreign language. I also have a degree in translation. I offer General English classes that are fun and focused on conversation, I teach grammar and vocabulary and cover listening, reading and writing skills. I am a fully qualified primary school teacher based in Falkirk with over 15 years of experience particularly in the upper primary level. With every student that identifies this as an area for development, my focus is on building a strong foundation in maths reinforcing key concepts, using key problem-solving strategies as well as developing critical thinking skills. Through the use of real-world, tangible examples, I will help students develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and how they can be applied in their own lives. This work will be followed up with targeted areas for further practice, consolidation and/or additional challenge. During my writing sessions, I will guide students in developing their practical writing skills, i.e. grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and organisation of points/plot. Whilst encouraging creativity throughout, I will ensure there are multiple opportunities for students to express themselves through various writing genres. We will also work on editing and reviewing with feedback sessions built in to help consolidate the techniques introduced. I strongly believe that reading is the key to unlocking a whole world of knowledge and imagination. In my reading sessions, I will focus on developing essential skills such as phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocab. Through a variety of activities, including reading aloud, guided reading, discussion and analysis, I will help students improve their reading abilities, expand their literary horizons, and hopefully, foster a lifelong love for books.
