I use various resources in the teaching process, including those I find online and those I create myself, depending on my student's needs. My classes range from clearly teaching the grammar necessary for language construction to guiding the process of acquiring oral communication skills, all depending on your needs.
Based on my experience in the educational field, I can say that two of the most important aspects I consider in the learning and teaching process are the student's needs and their learning styles.
I encourage lots of oral communication, however the other three skills are present at any time of the classes. I can prepare and explain any topic you want to consider for your learning process.

Hello, I’m Ricardo. I was born in Medellin, Colombia and I am currently based in this city (the city of eternal spring) where I enjoy a full and enriching life. I am passionate about reading, cinema, music, sports, and languages (I've studied French and currently learning German). Additionally, I deeply value the moments shared with my family and friends. I deeply believe that being an autonomous user of any language can give you access to new ideas and cultures and basically different ways to perceive the world and the people in it.

Education

I did my undergraduate program in Tecnológico de Antioquia in Bacheloar's Degree in Education with emphasis in the Spanish Language and my master's degree in Foreign Language Teaching and Learning in Universidad de Antioquia, Medellín Colombia. However, previous to that, I studied Advertising and Visual Communication and then I complemented these studies with Marketing. On top of that, my passion for languages led me to study French and I am currently learning German.

Expérience / Qualifications

I have been working as an ESL for over 20 years in different places such as a prestigious bilingual school, several English academies and universities such as Universidad de Antioquia and Universidad Católica Luis Amigó. I also make part of the British Council working as a remote teacher for several kinds of learners. I love to teach face to face with my students, however I have been able to adapt to the virtual courses where I have learned to work with a variety of online tools. Based on my working experience, I know how important it is to get adapted to the student's needs and learning styles. Therefore, those are some of the most important aspects I take into consideration when teaching my learners.

Innovating in methods means studying and understanding how to apply them in the classroom. You can't start and use them without understanding the rationale behind the method and how to achieve results in the necessary time. Furthermore, you must take into account the characteristics of the class group and, above all, any special educational needs that may be present.

There are all kinds of methods, and it's important for teachers to be familiar with new methodologies in case a specific method doesn't work with a particular child in the class or with the entire group. Methods can also be combined if we see that a percentage of children haven't achieved the expected pace and the learning required to continue learning. It's important to work with a specialist teacher, who can intervene in the classroom as part of the school's inclusion or integration program, as they make an important contribution to managing teaching strategies.

I am a teacher with years of experience in inclusive education and supporting children and adolescents with special needs. I offer personalized tutoring from early childhood, focusing on holistic development. My inclusive methodology ensures that each child receives the attention and support they need for their learning.
