My classes are 100% focused on the interests and needs of the students. We will address everything that the student is interested in and we will develop knowledge in a dynamic and fluid way. In my Introduction to Singing classes, above all, we will focus on learning to use the voice appropriately, both the singing and the spoken voice, we will give a lot of importance to body posture and breathing. We will tackle different songs together, in a dynamic way and applying the technique that we are learning.

Blanca
My name is Blanca and I am a lyrical singer graduated from the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid. Master in Spanish and Latin American music. Active singer and teacher. I have experience as a teacher of both lyrical and modern and musical singing. I have taught children from 4-5 years old, adolescents, adults and the elderly. I also prepare voices for actors, for choral singers who want to improve and for people who need vocal technique in their work and want to correct or improve vocal delivery, and not get tired talking.

I have students of different levels, who start from zero level to students who already sing and are looking for a vocal coach to prepare for different tests or entrance exams, for lyrical singers, musical theater singers and actors.

I teach classes in Madrid (Puerta del Ángel area next to Puente Segovia) and at home (consult). Classes for one or several students, small groups too.

In the classes you will learn to work the voice technically and interpretively, understanding that the voice works together with the body, posture, resonators, expression, breathing, vocal technique, repertoire, language, color, expressiveness, physical condition and psychology of the singer.

The classes are made up of a first technical part with specific exercises to learn how the voice works and training various aspects of the voice such as breathing, air, connection, resonators, etc. with various types of vocalizations focused on working on different aspects. Then we work on the works and songs, applying the knowledge acquired to the repertoire, focusing on the emission, expressiveness and vocal technique necessary for the work and style. We also study the phonetics of the language of the song (Spanish, English, French, German and Italian).

I have additional training in classical and modern dance (ISTD) and violin (professional qualification).
You can contact me and I will send you more information.

Lori
Explore the expressive power of your voice through one-on-one sessions that are uniquely designed to meet your needs!

Hello! I am Lori, a professional singer and vocal pedagogue with notable performance and teaching experience in a variety of musical genres. I hold a doctorate in voice performance and am currently teaching in reputable institutions in the Washington, D.C. area.

I work with students ranging from teenagers to adults focusing on classical, musical theatre, and contemporary styles. Meanwhile, I perform in a diverse spectrum of styles and genres, mainly classical, musical theatre, and jazz, both in the United States and abroad.

I can help you with:
- Exploring your voice
- Establishing a healthy vocal technique
- Musicality (i.e. musical and stylistic work)
- Interpretation & dramatic expression
- Lyric diction (Italian, German, French, Spanish, English)
- Audition preparation
- Performance anxiety & self-confidence

A student’s learning experience should be fun, exciting and inspiring, as well as stimulating and challenging. I firmly believe that the teacher’s constructive feedback accelerates the learning process. Through creating a positive, energetic atmosphere, and establishing a safe, friendly environment, I always aim to encourage students to ask questions, share their thoughts and feelings in their learning process, and to exercise their creativity. These explorations are as crucial for the discovery of one’s voice as they are for the development of self-confidence and artistic expression.

I look forward to working with you!

Kennedy
As a classically trained opera singer, I offer voice and piano/keyboard instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, and I believe that everyone has the ability to find their inner musician. Through voice or piano instruction, I aim to help each of my students find their unique musical voice while building a foundation of technique, and I encourage my students to embrace mistakes and imperfections in the learning process. I also embrace teaching a variety of genres including pop, jazz, musical theatre, classical, and accompaniment. Most importantly, I hope to inspire a genuine passion for music in each of my voice and piano students.

Biography:

Born and raised in North Carolina, Kennedy is a classically trained mezzo soprano. She teaches and performs across a wide range of genres, including classical, musical theatre, gospel, and pop. She found her passion for singing and performing at the age of 5 when she began to sing in church, and her love for the performing arts led her to participate in choir and musical theatre throughout school. She has performed roles such as Annie in Annie Get Your Gun and Cat in the Hat in Seussical. Kennedy began piano lessons at age 15 and classical vocal training at age of 17. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from UNC Chapel Hill, where she dove into classical vocal training and performed operatic roles such as the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas and Madame de la Haltière in Cendrillon. It was at UNC that Kennedy fell in love with performing opera and found that classical vocal training also improved her musical theatre and pop repertoire.

After studying abroad in London and Florence during her time at UNC, Kennedy decided to return to London to pursue a master’s degree. She graduated in 2020 with a Master of Music in Classical Vocal Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, where she was awarded the Kathleen Roberts Vocal Scholarship. During her time in London, she performed in venues such as The Queen’s House and Blackheath Halls, and sang various operatic roles such as The Third Lady in The Magic Flute, Gertrude in Louise, Ljubica in the contemporary chamber opera Svadba, and as Cenerentola in Cenerentola. She also gained training and experience singing in a wide range of languages, including Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Serbian.

In addition to performing, Kennedy has an equal love for teaching and has taught voice and piano for over six years to students across London, North Carolina, and Spain. She currently resides in Madrid, Spain where she works as a music and English teacher.
