About Me
I have many years in child care. I grew up in a neighborhood filled with kids that I babysat regularly. I also have experience as a teachers assistant at a high school in Manhattan, New York. I assisted high school students with assignments to excel in educational achievements. I tutored up to 15 students in variety of subjects and kept track of their progression, course work and maintained an organized agenda for each of them. I facilitated the process of academics in writing, computer literacy, public speaking, and test taking skills.
Within my time there, I also planned activities in a fun and positive learning environment and improved student participation in the classroom through integration of creative role-plying exercises and peer sessions.

Benoît
Qualified and experienced teacher, I give English lessons “face to face” or in groups of 2 to 6 people

I am perfectly bilingual, having been educated for 10 years in England in Reading near London in a traditional English school.
Diplomas:
Bac + 5: Engineer from the Purpan School of Engineering
Cambridge IGCSE,
SKILL
TOEFL
TOEIC (990/990)
BAFA (Brevet of Aptitude for Facilitator Functions)

Use an excellent teaching method based on all communication. Memory is constantly stimulated thanks to images, associations of ideas, the use of exciting contexts... This method works very well for all ages and all levels.

I have 7 years of teaching experience at all levels, academic support, refresher training, oral coaching, travel preparation.

I also hold the BAFA (Brevet d'Aptitude aux Functions d'Animateur) and teach children in a fun and adapted way, using games, songs, plastic activities, so that they quickly become comfortable, and happy to speak English!

The ++
Clear and effective explanations with a white table with visual support, at home
An interest for multiple subjects allowing for various and interesting connections (travel, languages, culture, technology, sports, ...)
Utilization of support and ideal methods (essential grammar in use, vocabulary builder)
Use of board games, music and theater, particularly appreciated by children
A good cup of tea (or coffee)

Group courses: minimum of two people.
Travel costs may be requested for home lessons.
Do not hesitate to call me for more information

Benoit

3 good tips to learn a language

1) Listen a lot

This is essential. And easy, for English. You can watch movies or series, subtitles in French at first then in English when you are more comfortable. You can listen to the songs in the lyrics ("lyrics" in English).

2) Many speakers

Also essential, find a teacher who has a good conversation, or a friend, college... Speak even if you lack vocabulary. Mime the missing words, draw, make yourself understood at your level.

3) Read simple things

Books for children can be a wonderful tool of progress. Roald Dahl's books for example (Fantastic Mr Fox, Charly and the Chocolate Factory...) the series "the worst witch" by Jill Murphy. Comics too.
