He is now developing his musical career in Hochschule der Künste Bern in a Masters in Composition and Creative Practice.

Cristiano (b. 1996) is a percussionist, performer, composer, and sound artist who already has several awards in his curriculum. Winner of the Portuguese Young Musicians - Superior Level Percussion Award and 1st Place in the IPCB International Percussion Contest, Cristiano has presented himself and developed mainly in the area of music and contemporary performances, exploring new multidisciplinary forms of artistic expression among music, electronics, video, and visual arts.

As a percussionist he has published and recorded numerous contemporary works for solo percussion, chamber music and orchestral music of his own and also works composed by Portuguese composers such as António Pinho Vargas, Carlos Caires, Daniel Davis, Fábio Cachão, Fátima Fonte, Filipe Raposo, Francisco Fontes, Hugo Vasco Reis, Manuel Moreira, Pedro Finisterra, Pedro Melo Alves, Pedro Lima, Sara Ross among others.

Cristiano works regularly with several National Orchestras such as the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Casa da Música Orchestra, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, S. Carlos Theatre Orchestra, Lisbon Sinfonietta. Frequently invited as a soloist and/or percussionist reinforcement, he has performed in museum premieres and numerous national, European, and North American concert halls.
Since then Cristiano has worked as a composer under the guidance of world references in musical theater, Sound art’s, and contemporary music such as Simon Steen-Andersen (composition and musical theater), Cathy van-Eck (composition and Sound Arts), Angela Bürger (musical theater), Gilbert Nouno (composition and electronics), Leo Dick (composition, soundscape), Cedric Spindler (composition, electronics) among many others.

Cristiano is co-founder of an artistic collective located in Bern. He also created, "about climate change..." (2019, a multidisciplinary work for percussion + electronics + video), Grains - Album for percussion, electronics, and voice (2019 - 2020), uma Mão lava a OUTRA (2020, for hyper- amplified Bass-Drum, the choreography of hands and objects) works that always has a multidisciplinary relationship not only in their performance but also in the combination of various activistic messages.

My cello lessons are based around playing together, finding the students own ways to improve and learning about ways to make our daily life enchanted with music practice!

I am a Belgian cellist and studied in Antwerp, where I finished my Masters before moving to Switzerland to do a postgraduate at the Zurich University of the Arts. I love working in chamber music, in musical theater (with dance, actors, fine arts) and I am very passionate about traditional/world music as well.
