Organic Chemistry Basics - Beginners and Refreshers course

Organic Chemistry is a difficult subject, but only if you make it so. In reality, if learned well it is actually a beautiful subject and relatively easy. I will help you from the very basics, you can learn these concepts or revise them if you already know them, and then grow from those basics to intermediate concepts and higher levels.
The harsh truth is that organic chemistry relies on the memorization of reactions, structures, reagents, and rules which can make it quite daunting to study. But, with effective teaching methods and practice questions you will be able to conquer this subject.
We will structure the classes according to your level and understanding, we can go slower or faster based on your schedule and I will assign homework for practice, but we will also solve questions together during the lesson. Hopefully, I will be able to help you appreciate this beautiful subject, if not then at least help you clear your exams :)

You have reached the end of your education and you are going to conclude it with a research report or thesis. You've worked on your topic for a while, collected most of the data, and you already know quite a bit about it, but now everything has to come into a well-written and logically structured story. That can be tricky, but I can help you with that! During my career at the universities of Utrecht and Groningen I supervised many students in subjects such as ecology and environmental sciences. I also really enjoy interdisciplinary thinking and working, for example by connecting scientific topics with business administration and/or policy questions, resulting in an advisory report for a company or government.
After my retirement from university in 2019, I also supervised students from other disciplines such as history and geography. Perhaps most importantly, I really enjoy using my broad experience to help motivated students.

As a second year medical student, I have an abundance of experience with learning mathematics and sciences. I took all three sciences and maths in my IBDP Diploma. Now, I am continuing to extensively develop my science and maths knowledge in my medicine course.

Maths and sciences are very interesting and important subjects, but can be quite challenging to learn independently. My tutoring is focussed on providing clear, structured, organised and engaging lessons to help with any confusion. I tailor my lessons to the students needs and encourage them to be active in their own learning through means of practice questions. I am someone who is kind, attentive, motivated and hard-working and these attributes come across in my tutoring sessions.

As a recent IB graduate with a score of 44/45 (All 7's in the Sciences and Maths), I know how to master the content of the IB diploma in a smart way. Since the IB diploma covers a very universal curriculum and my knowledge of sciences/maths is solid, I can also help in tutoring of other systems.
