Argentine Tango Course

We are a couple of tango dancers with more than 15 years of experience in teaching in Europe, Buenos Aires in Argentina and Montevideo in Uruguay. Our teaching combines elements of traditions and culture from the Rio de la Plata area together with biomechanics and analysis of movement. Our private classes are for couples and/or individuals, and the lessons will be tailored according to your needs and interests. Our pedagogy is encouraging, fun, and efficient. We also teach very popular group classes in the center of Geneva, let us know if you are interested in them! :)

Private tango classes for adults in Geneva: beginners, intermediate and advanced. Courses can be taught in French, English or Spanish. You can come in couple or alone, the courses will be adapted to your level and your specific needs. A Uruguayan national born in the Tango culture, I am a tango professional with over 20 years of experience teaching tango in Europe, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Uruguay. My pedagogy combines the elements of tradition and tango culture with the principles of biomechanics and body awareness, always remaining encouraging, playful and effective.

📌It doesn't always take two for things to work... To begin to connect, assimilate and experiment with new KNOWLEDGE, the most IMPORTANT thing is the body, the attitude, perseverance and a great pinch of confidence! I always like to approach the codes of different dance disciplines, based on structures that work on the physical, rhythmic, and creative aspects. There is an idea that Tango is difficult to learn, and of course if we approach it with that label, it will be that way. Starting from the main concept of tango, WALKING, something that we all do most of the time, dancing tTANGO is within everyone's reach.🤗 Another very important point is the way to assimilate and understand it 😉😅 ❤️‍🔥What will the classes be like, you ask? I'll tell you a little bit, we are going to develop the structure in the work of weight changes, the step, projection of the walk, the pivot, understanding the kinesphere individually and as a couple translated into the hug, the turns and the spiral torso to understand the momentum in various exercises, the eights so famous in tango, the basic step and universal exit, walks with the concept of lanes and much more from various sequences that familiarize you with the technical needs to be able to perform the steps without leaving aside the dynamics, pulse, accent and compas of the tango. Everything will be raised in the background in a more organic way. It's not just about learning individual steps, and then...what do we do 🧐? It is not the form that should take the leading role, but the way in which you express that form. We will also let your creative and playful side be part of the process, through a tool that I consider very valuable, which is improvisation 👌 since it allows you to find your own style and recognize your strengths and weaknesses to continue growing in your passion for dance. With all these tools, entering the world of more complex sequences and why not, creating your own, will be one more step and not an impossible challenge to achieve.🤩 Don't forget that the steps that are known today and a large part of the sequences emerged from a restless and creative mind, which explored synonymous with IMPROVISE❗️ Let's go through the process together and hold each other in a hug.

The classes are personalized. They can be face-to-face or via webcam. In them you can learn to play this beautiful instrument from the beginning, you do not need to know anything. Also for those who already know how to play and want to develop their technique, I have an extremely efficient method since I have studied with one of the greatest bandoneonists in the world, Nestor Marconi. I have also trained at the Conservatory and I have guitar courses with Robert Fripp. I have 30 years of experience and have played in the most important concert halls in my country and in the US and Europe. I have been dancing all kind of dances since I was a kid. I started with Argentine Tango in 2009, with teaching in 2002. Now I am based in Vienna. I also travel regularly to Graz, and also to Hungary when possible. You can come alone or with a partner. I teach both roles.

The goal is to learn how to play in a tango orchestra and also how to make your ensamble sound more in the tango style, traditional and modern. The basis of their teaching is listening to each other on music. In tango, steps are important and necessary, but emotions, dialogue, creativity are essential. Their tango classes aim to provide the tools necessary to understand and analyze the movement, to learn how to mark the different fundamental technical elements that define this improvisational dance. Hello! My name is Kaspar. I am a professional accordion & bandoneon player from Estonia and currently based in Brussels, Belgium. I hold a bachelor's degree in jazz music (accordion, keyboards) from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and a master's degree (bandoneon) in World Music / Argentine Tango from Codarts / Hogeschool voor de kunsten (Rotterdam, the Netherlands). During my prior studies, I have found, that I would like to specialize in Argentinian tango/folklore and combine my previous knowledge and skills in jazz and world music as an interpreter and composer. I have been teaching accordion, bandoneon, jazz piano, and music theory for the last 9 years and I have experience with students of different ages and levels. I'm offering accordion and bandoneon lessons for all ages and levels. Folklore from the south of the world – Music Lesson I am Chilean and I am fan and player of the music of the southern cone: Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. Specifically I can help you learn tango, cueca, milonga, murga, boleros and tonadas. To a lesser extent I can help to learn Afro-Peruvian and bossa nova. The lessons I offer can include musical practice, rhythms, progressions and typical melodies, as well as the study of the history of the musical genres and the culture associated with them. If you want to nurture your career as a musician with other genres or if you are an amateur musician with an interest in music from the south of the world, these lessons are for you. If you are not a musician and simply want to approach the study of the culture, I can also provide books, articles and videos relating to it. Personalized violin classes for all levels. In tango violin classes we will address rhythmic and expressive melodies with their various forms of articulations and phrasing within the genre. We will also see marking models in the fundamental styles of tango and percussive effects on the violin. We will be able to work with repertoire of each student's choice. In my career I have experience as a violinist and director of typical tango orchestras in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am a qualified music teacher, a specialist in the instrument.

During my studies in Buenos Aires I took lessons from Paulina Fain and Victoria Polti, two of the flute's main references in tango. I also studied Argentine folk music at the conservatory for several years. The lessons can be in German, English or Spanish. We are happy to do a free interview to get to know each other and talk about your goals with the flute. You don't need any prior knowledge. I will do my best to adapt the lessons to your wishes and needs.
