Hello, I'm Sam!
I've been making documentaries and TV shows for 8 years.
I've made dozens of (short) documentaries and TV shows. My main focus is directing, research & interviewing.
I can teach you everything there is to know about making documentaries.

I studied documentary directing at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema & Sound in Brussels and started working as director right after I graduated.

The lessons will cover everything you need to know about how to make a documentary. The idea & research fase, conceptualisation of the idea, interview techniques, filming techniques, the importance of sound, the editing process and ways to fund your film will all talked about in great detail.

I'm looking forward to teaching all the things I've learned over the last years so you will be able to make your own documentaries or to gather the knowhow so you could start working as a (freelance) director as well and make your living out of your love for film!

I've been making music and playing in (rock) bands since I was a teenager.
About 7 years ago I got very much into electronic music and I took my music career in a different direction. At first it might seem overwhelming cause working with Ableton might be a bit much at first.
I followed several courses to get better and year after year my knowhow about Ableton and electronic music production grew.
Now I'm very much looking forward in sharing that knowledge I gathered over the years in just a few lessons!
I like to work very customised to answer all your questions and make you a good music producer!

I've been working as a director and sound recorder for 6 years and I've been making music for an even longer time :)

* I've played in and produced music in several bands
* I'm comfortable using Ableton in Live settings
* I design my own drum-/percussive elements (Kicks, rimshots, HH,...) what really makes a big difference then using stock plugins in Ableton.
* I love working with analog synthesis using my prophet, but Ableton has several features to go crazy with sounddesign too! :)
* I've made music for expositions, short- & full lengths documentaries.

Learn Ableton Live 11 - Record your music - Make your own beats - Learn everything about music production

Hello, I'm Sam :)

As a music producer I've been working with Ableton live for both recording and making music as well as Live performances.

I'm comfortable using Ableton stock plugins but also 3th party plugins such as Fabfilter plugins (Q3, R, L2,...) and making percussive sounds with Serum (or Operator in Ableton).
I also do a lot of sounddesign using my prophet 6 or record guitar and make it stand out in the mix.

I'm very happy to hear what you like to learn so I can adjust the lessons to exactly what you need!

For myself, I mainly use Ableton to make electronic (deep house) music with rock influences.

00. INTRO

I am a young professional in the film industry, I have collaborated with multiple partners such as Vice, Sony, Unicef, WWF, but also many musicians, architects, non-profit companies and independent creators.
I have experience as a director, editor, dop, editing assistant, focus puller, author, electro, and production assistant.

I've studied 5 years of Cinema in Luca Arts Brussels, and one year of Supermedia studies in Prague Umprum.
My strengths lie especially in combining the musical field with the cinematographic point of view, such as experimental video art, arthouse movies, videoclips but also dance and musici films - although I've trained to become a co-ordinator of team-work and an efficient editor too.
I work for corporate companies, big music industries and very small independent projects as well, depending whether or not I like the music. (hihi)

I will teach you video and movie editing, for your own or commercial use.
The software I recommend is the full adobe kit, musically, I can work with ableton, audacity and a little bit with pro tools too.

I've completed a multiple amount of residencies in the framework of my own artistic practices, and could describe myself as a multidisciplinary artist.

My work has been featured on several international magazines with a width of 700k monthly readers and I have enjoyed international exposure with my filmic work.

I am a TV and documentary film director, cameraman and editor specialized in corporate video, TV reports and documentary films.
I work more than 10 years for different TV stations, EU Commission and different production companies.

In this class I will teach how to work with your digital camera, basics of storytelling and how to film a short TV report or short documentary film.
Field practice is also included and very important.
You will learn everything from your ideas to realisation.

My method is to trade as much as possible. I want to try to better understand your point of view or your way of conceiving your project. I will recommend movies to watch to arouse your curiosity. I will also give you a certain analytical basis, to better identify the devices and methods to achieve them. The art of cinema is often to play with codes, for that you must first master them. I will try to teach you to take a step back from your own project and to accept an outside opinion.

Regarding video editing, my method is to take examples of short films / audiovisual projects, and put yourself into practice. Editing certainly needs a little theory, but it can be learned above all by practicing. So I will teach you certain methods and certain precepts to have to master. I will mainly follow your project (s).
