My name is Gianni, I'm a professional musician, currently living in Basel and doing my master's degree in double bass at the Musik Akademie Basel. I've been playing and studying music since I was 7 years old; I started with classical guitar, then electric guitar and electric bass, then I started double bass and lately I'm learning saxophone. I would say my main instruments are guitar and bass and I have been teaching these for 5 years to students of different levels and different aspirations. Orchestral musician and chamber musician, holder of a double master's degree in pedagogy and performance in France and abroad, I would be happy to accompany you on the way to learning violin. I am quite open to the students requests and always willing to research deeper and expand my vocal vocabulary. Singing is a vulnerable, intimate and also communal act. Sadly, our modern world has mystified it into the sphere of the "born-talent" ideal, which often scares people from even trying to sing. I find this phenomena a cruel and exclusivist perspective on singing. I consider singing an universal right, and we should all be unashamed of singing, be it in your bathtub, while walking on the street, in a dinner with friends, or in the next open stage at your local bar. We all have the capacity and the right to sing. If anybody has told you that you can't sing, they were wrong. Like any skill, you can learn it. And if you sing, you, your body, and your soul will be happier. One of my students once said: "You come for a singing lesson and you discover something new about who you are". I think that would summarize well the space I try to create in my lessons.

I love to teach and I am always happy to discover new things with my students, I think there is always something new to learn from both sides. For me it's very important to create a good atmosphere for the students, and that they feel comfortable during the lessons. I like to provide them as much as I can and make this process of learning a very special adventure. My lessons are more in the direction of developing the student’s musical ideas.
