I offer lessons to all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to those more advanced. Typical lessons last from 30 minutes to an hour. All of my lessons are tailored to meet the exact needs and preferences of my students, whether that's working towards their next graded exam, playing just for fun, and anything in between. I hold a first class honours degree in Classical Flute from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I studied with Ian Clarke and Philippa Davies, and won the Needlemaker's Woodwind Prize. After graduating in 2022, I was invited to become a Guildhall School Junior Fellow, specialising in Flute and Composition. As a freelance flautist, I have had the privilege of performing at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Concert Hall and the Southbank Centre. My performance experience encompasses a diverse range of settings, from live radio broadcasts to collaborations with dance and art installations, reflecting my versatility as a musician, and openness to help my students pursue their own personal journey, both within music and as an individual in general. In addition to my passion for the flute, I am also an accomplished composer with a portfolio of commissioned works premiering at renowned venues and exhibitions worldwide. Notable highlights include composing for Wessel Flutes, Berlin Fashion Week, Nxt Museum (Amsterdam), and Adidas Y-3. My work as a composer heavily influences my approach to teaching. Beyond emphasising technical proficiency and a solid grasp of music theory, I am dedicated to nurturing creativity in all of my students.

With the training and a year of experience in music therapy, I provide music lessons for children and adults using recent neurological research in the field. I am an experienced music tutor and value creativity more than anything else. It makes me happy to share my knowledge and skills with others and help them achieve their musical goals. Chris Ferrari is a New York City-based multi-instrumentalist. A passionate composer and improviser, he has performed as a leader and sideman throughout New York, Boston, Colorado and abroad over the past 15 years. Chris attended the Manhattan School of Music (MM ‘25) and the New England Conservatory of Music (BM ‘23). He has taught privately and within public schools over the past eight years, and loves to help students cultivate their passion for music and instrumental performance. Students can choose to focus entirely on their instrument (saxophone, clarinet, and flute), or can specifically study improvisation, jazz composition, music theory, and ear training. While primarily a jazz musician, Chris is trained in a wide variety of musics including classical, which he diligently studied on the clarinet; popular music and R&B; and world musics, including Brazilian (Choro/Bossa/Samba), Latin-American (Bomba/Timba/Rumba), and West-African styles (Agbekor/Gahu). Some of Chris's many accomplishments include being recognized as a YoungArts Jazz Performance winner for four years in a row; performing abroad in Europe with the inaugural NYO Jazz Band, receiving a Community Performances and Partnerships Ensemble Fellowship at New England Conservatory, and also receiving the George Whitefield Chadwick Medal of musical and academic performance. I studied at the Royal College of Music in London, during which time I was winner of the Eve Kisch flute prize & was awarded the Allen John Warren prize. I've since performed with orchestras & ensembles in Europe, Norway, Middle East, Hong Kong & Macau. As a teacher I have over 15 years' experience teaching students of all ages - from beginner to advanced level - in preparation for ABRSM exams, or just for fun! I have also previously held teaching positions at some of the UK's leading independent schools, and was visiting instrumental teacher to the Royal Family of Saudia Arabia, in London. I enjoy teaching both harp and flute at my studio in Worthing and also offer lessons online. I studied at The Royal Academy of Music, London graduating with a first-class Master's degree and an LRAM music teaching qualification.
