Hello! My name is José Pedro, and I am a classical trombonist currently in my third year of a Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. My musical journey began in Portugal at the age of three, eventually leading me to graduate from the Conservatório de Música da JOBRA with multiple Merit Awards for my dedication and skill. My professional path has been defined by a commitment to orchestral excellence, having performed as 2nd Trombone with both the Rotterdam Philharmonic and Phil Zuid, and as 1st Trombone with the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras. Beyond the orchestral stage, I have earned 2nd place at the International Wind Instruments Competition "Terras de La Salette" and have participated in numerous masterclasses with world-renowned instructors to refine my technique. Whether performing in a symphony hall or a jazz ensemble, I strive to bring the full expressive power and nobility of the trombone to every audience.

I play bass/tenor trombone and tuba on a professional level (I am regularly subbing in e.g. the Metropole Orkest or the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw) as well as piano and trumpet on an advanced level. I am proficient in many styles, such as jazz or classical music. I am fluent in German, English and Dutch and C1 level in French.

I offer private lessons for trombone (bass or tenor) and tuba at any level and piano and trumpet for beginners.
