My name is Ignacio Pintó and I am a Spanish bass player living in Amsterdam. I moved to this lovely city four years ago to study the Jazz Double Bass Bachelor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

I am in love with music, my main occupation right now is working in projects that excite me deeply, trying to bring new sounds to the world through composition and improvisation.

I love sharing this excitement and knowledge with people. That's the reason why I have developed a flexible system to organise music development, based on my recent experience. In the lessons we will focus on the music you love and find ways to develop the skills it requires in a methodic way, always having fun in the process. We will also playfully explore creativity and improvisation, my ultimate goal is finding your voice as a musician and helping you develop it!

Although double bass is my main instrument now, my first steps as a musician were given with bass guitar. I also have experience teaching that instrument and I feel equally capable of helping you develop those skills.

You can expect an personalised program, with prepared lessons based essentially in your musical interests and goals, potentially covering these topics among others: double bass technique, bowing, electric bass technique, jazz repertoire, ear training, music theory, improv techniques, rhythm, composition, basic production skills, basic piano skills.

If interested, next to the bass lessons I could also arrange ensemble lessons connecting you with fellow musicians of similar interests and skill level.

Een taal leren is leuk en uitdagend als je actief mee aan de slag gaat. Voor mijn lessen gebruik ik zowel lesmethodes als zelfontworpen materiaal. Ik vind het belangrijk om samen met de student doelen te stellen en in kaart brengen wat hij of zij wilt leren. Ik vind het fijn om een goede basis te geven en van daaruit steeds uitdagende opdrachten te geven en bespreken die bij het niveau van de student passen. Goede communicatie speelt dus bij mijn lessen een grote rol.

Naast de lesmethodes en eigen materiaal, vind ik het ook leuk om verschillende apps/programma's te gebruiken om het leren een dynamisch karakter te geven, bijvoorbeeld: quiz online om woordenschat te herhalen, memoryspel om de vervoegingen van werkwoorden te oefenen, etc. Ik vind het leuk om de stof op verschillende manieren aan te bieden zodat de student het vaak genoeg herhaald en ook op verschillende manieren verwerkt.

Always wanted to learn Spanish, but the regular lessons go too fast and/or it doesn't stick, then follow these tailor-made lessons.

Why class for 40+, because we have learned from our own experience how difficult it is to learn another language later in life and that most books/courses are based for younger students.

All lessons are adapted to your individual needs and speed.

You do not need to purchase any books, all materials will be delivered by email. This is because we work with several books and in this way we can offer a lot of learning material and thus make the learning material varied (and also rehearse more often if necessary.)

There is no minimum or maximum number of lessons, you are the one who determines the frequency. Of course you can also do these lessons with your partner.

Lessons are given online via Skype and last 1.5 hours at a time.
Lessons can be given during the day or in the evening.
