Firstly I am a pianist of which I am able to teach on intermediate level, however I am also a multi instrumentalist and the other instruments I can teach are bass, drums, guitar and vocals/singing to beginners only. I specialise in teaching music as a whole. This means that I don't only teach music theory or how to transcribe music, I also teach songwriting/composition. My approach is not based on being able to sight read well. It is based on being able to play an instrument as well as eventually to be able to use music theory and to have the ability to transcribe (play music by listening to it). I love songwriting so this area of study is also a part of what my students learn when they come to me for lessons.

When my students are able to reach their goals it makes me feel so happy because making a positive impact in someone's life is why I decided to become a teacher in the first place! I am able to teach from beginner level up to upper intermediate level both in music and in English. In Saying this, it's important for me to mention that age doesn't matter. I am capable of teaching children, teenagers or adults. I love tailoring lessons to meet the exact needs, motivations and interests of my students. even if I am provided with resources, a learning plan and text books, I will always find the best way to use these in combination with my own resources and methods. The outcome I seek is what is best for my students and the lesson plans I create show that I do a lot of research when planning. Spending good time on lesson planning allows me to be relaxed and confident during lessons which creates a relaxed learning environment where my students can feel calm so that the work can be enjoyable as well as fun. Proper lesson planning also gives me the ability to be flexible in class so that I can adapt to the needs or ways of my students with ease and without much effort. I also use aspects of music as a resource for my students who are learning English and I have found that this approach can be very fun as well as educational.
