Oboe and Theory lessons

As a freelance oboist with over 10 years of teaching experience, both privately and in schools, I offer comprehensive oboe lessons. My teaching covers a diverse range of students, spanning from children to adults (including someone as mature as 80 – proving it's never too late to learn!). My students range from beginners to those post-grade 8.

I am known for my friendly and enthusiastic teaching approach. My main goal is to ensure that all my pupils take joy in making music while working towards their individual goals, whether that involves pure enjoyment or preparation for music examinations.

Additionally, I am skilled in teaching music theory, a valuable asset for enhancing musicianship and a necessity for students aiming to advance through higher music grades.

With a Bachelor of Music and a Masters degree from esteemed London music colleges – the Royal College and Royal Academy of Music – my qualifications are rooted in excellence. Since then, I have embraced a performing career as a soloist and have collaborated with orchestras and ensembles worldwide.

Excellent and patient, our son really enjoyed his 1st class with Jemma

Embarking on a professional journey as both a concert pianist and piano instructor, I successfully completed the "Diplôme supérieur d'enseignement" competition at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot with the distinction of "mention très bien." Concurrently with my solo pianist career, I derive pleasure from collaborating with fellow musicians. I triumphed in the "Diplôme Supérieur de musique de chambre" competition and am presently enrolled in a piano accompaniment DEM program at CRR de Aubervilliers. Trumpet lessons for 1,2 and 3 cycle 🎺 🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺
Trumpet lessons with me are tailor-made for you. Normally with the students I work a lot on breathing which I consider to be a main element for a trumpeter. Afterwards it's important to work on ease: playing must be complicated! The trumpet is an instrument that is a little physically difficult but with a good technical routine and good manners it's not complicated enough either! Personally, I have encountered several technical problems on the trumpet in my life and thanks to that I developed an extraordinary “problem-solving” capacity that I can also apply to my students.

Music theory workshops and lessons for beginners average and advanced.
Currently studying music theory at an advanced level in the conservatory of Paris, I give lessons for everyone. I started my musical studies at seven years old in Lorraine where I got my music theory certificate in 2020. In 2021 I entered Paris' conservatory and progressed to where I am today. I has been more than ten years that I study musical theory and I am aware of the difficulties people can face learning it, especially children that tend to see it as boring. I discovered many different aspects of this subject and I would like to teach them to others while adapting to their needs and wishes. I can use the voice, the body, an instrument, some reading and lots of listening to develop the musical personality of students. Don't hesitate to ask me for any other informations!

Matéo
DEM Jazz graduate gives guitar lessons of all styles in Paris
Hello, my name is Matéo and I am 25 years old. I have been playing the guitar for 8 years and I have been teaching it for more than 4 years to about twenty children or adult students that I have had in private or group lessons, at home or in music school. On the diploma side, I obtained my DEM Jazz (Diploma of Musical Studies) after several years in conservatory and music school. My favorite style is therefore jazz but I teach current music in general on the guitar (acoustic as well as electric) and above all I adapt to my students to teach them what they like. In addition to learning pieces, the knowledge I have acquired allows me to approach musical theory (the rhythmic, melodic and harmonic aspects inherent in each piece) and the logic of the instrument (the organization of the notes on the handle) if necessary, the goal not being to inflict a lot of music theory on ourselves but to use it to our advantage, by small touches, in order to become a complete musician. A few words about my pedagogy: For me, the most important thing - especially when you're just starting out - is to have fun making music. What I always ask my students: “What do you want to play? What music do you like? ". Because it is this desire that will make it possible to make the effort to work to achieve the result and above all to progress on the path. After a necessary moment spent on the fundamentals (posture, position of the fingers, right hand/left hand function, open chords, rhythm, simple melodies) I thus adapt to the profile of each student to offer him avenues of work in relation to the selected piece. I think this method allows you to explore music deeply while remaining playful. I move around Paris, in priority around the 15th, 16th, and 7th arrondissement. If you have any questions, do not hesitate and look forward to meeting you! Mateo

Learn to play the piano and music theory in just a few weeks thanks to my practical theory method.
I'm Steve, and I've been a self-taught pianist for 15 years. I'm here to share my knowledge with those who are new to the piano. I offer both online and in-person lessons tailored to individual needs. My lessons are designed for teenagers and adults. While I'm more comfortable speaking French, I also have a basic command of English. Allow me to share a quote that reflects my character and sums up my personality: "If you have to reckon with a man, at least make sure he's an honest man." Very courteously Steve Tags: Piano; piano lessons, music lessons; music theory; the basics of music; essential agreements; essential piano exercises; arpeggios; piano scales; songs; gospel; album; Play a musical instrument; Yamaha, PSR.

Solfège and musical culture (History, analysis ...).
Former student of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, editor-in-chief of the magazine Avant-Scène Opéra, editor for the Philharmonie du Luxembourg, I offer you the following lessons. Music theory and musical culture are essential tools for understanding and making music. Music theory, because it allows you to master the technical tools that allow you to make music, is fundamental for anyone who wants to progress in their instrument. Musical culture makes it possible to understand what goes on in music beyond the technique. From this knowledge (established over a lot of listening) we can develop an interpretation and go beyond technical issues. For music theory lessons only, I constantly articulate the different musical parameters (rhythm, intonation, ear, etc.) and draw my training from the repertoire, which has the advantage of making music from the start. Small technical exercises also allow you to focus on one or the other parameter, but the perspective remains mainly that of a global approach placing the music at the center. As far as musical culture is concerned, I use each of my professional experiences (Musicologist, playwright and music critic) to transmit my knowledge to you. Thus we will approach the history of music through works (history of forms and languages), interpretation and places of music. It is mainly through the study of documents (texts of musical criticism, iconography, scores, musical instruments...) that transmission takes place. Knowledge completes and informs this documentary study. Finally the study of document and the erudition have only one goal: to enlighten the listening of the works which I place at the heart of my teaching.

Solfège, musical training: musical reinforcement at any level (beginner to professional) - CRR de Paris
Music theory and training lessons: rhythm, deciphering (with the instrument or sung), listening and inner hearing, understanding of the score, dictations, listening comments, etc. Several years of teaching have allowed me to significantly refine my pedagogy, depending on each student, each level. I systematically prepare my lessons and readjust them after each meeting. With my students, we work on texts from the classical and modern repertoire, linking theory and real practice. The pupil also prepares the course by exercises or practical work. I would like to continue to work in the long term with students, amateur or professional musicians, in order to share my passion and transmit the foundations of music: musical training, music theory, musical analysis, orchestration or even writing. musical.
