I am an independent researcher and tutor based in Marseille in France. I grew up near Nottingham in England and as indicated by my name I have Irish heritage! I have lived in several countries including the Netherlands, Turkey and France which shape my pedagogies and teaching of the English language. I enjoy illustrating, photography and learning and improving other languages including French, Turkish, Spanish and Arabic.

I received my Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Adults from International House in 2008. I am offering lessons to adults and children that will improve your grammar, vocabulary and speaking. I provide all the materials for the lesson and tailor the lesson to your needs. Currently studying political science in Lille, I want to find a job using my achievements of high school according to the method taught in preparatory class for examinations of IEP.

The pupil is initially aware of his difficulties and misunderstanding. Then, tasks and recitations are realized to improve the level of the student in the subject.

The principle is to fill the gaps of the student according to a logic of interaction with the teacher. To avoid getting close to formal schooling, visual aids can be used. The student may also be encouraged to write lesson cards and to synthesize the course given by the high school teacher.

Hello,

I'm English and currently living in Marseille for a couple of months in order to learn some French. I'm probably an intermediate French speaker - 5 years at school and 6 weeks of intensive classes here in Marseille.

I have no teaching qualifications but do hold a First Class Law Degree from the University of Bristol. I'm happy to just chat in English and correct any mistakes or use a more formal structure.

You will learn Spanish and / or English in a dynamic way with exercises that promote the learning of the language to use it in everyday life as well as in a more formal or even specific setting. My goal is that you can use the language to communicate fluently and enjoy it.

To do this, I use non-formal education methods, these are activities that make it possible to implement the knowledge already acquired of the language and to improve and deepen its level, but also to formal education by explaining grammar or dispelling doubts in order to teach them to express themselves well in writing and orally in formal or informal situations.

In summary, the student will learn grammar and pronunciation through conversations and games.

Hello! My name is Kate and I am an Australian who is has been living in France since 2019. I am fluent in French and English is obviously my native language.

My educational background: I hold a Masters of Art Therapy from The University of Paris with a major in music therapy, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with majors in Music and Psychology, and a Diploma of Languages with a major in French from The University of Queensland, Australia.

As a native English speaker my goal is to instill confidence in my students (of all ages) of their ability to speak, use, and understand English. I use a variety of interactive methods including songs, actions, rhymes, books, and music. I am firm believer in 'trying' and as such I will encourage my students to use their English, regardless of how many faults they may make. It is only from making errors, that we can improve! Additionally, I am happy to work on assignments, test preparation, or any other English homework which may need completing. I can provide homework, or extension tasks as required.

My lessons are largely immersion based, and as such I will avoid the use of French, unless an explanation is needed for clarity. I am happy to adapt to the needs of my students.

I have been teaching English in France since 2019. Prior to arriving in France, I tutored for over two years in Australia, aiding students from ages 8 to 17 with a variety of subjects including English, maths, science, music, and french. I have extensive experience with children: I have been a scout leader since 2020 in Marseille, and have been involved with Girl Guides Australia since I was 7 years old, eventually leading a group of 10-17 year olds for over 4 years before arriving to France.

I am located near Metro Prado, but can travel throughout Marseille. Depending on distance, travel costs may be in addition to class fees.

I have a valid working with children background check in Australia, and hold first aid qualifications in France (PSC1).

The method that we will follow for the lessons will depend on the needs of the student that we will define during our first interview. We can proceed either by oral interviews with the deepening of grammar, vocabulary and conjugation or by written exercises of comprehension of texts and deepening of grammar, vocabulary and conjugation in writing by the dictation and reading of texts. For those who wish to learn with these two methods we can divide the course with half written and half oral.

Spanish and French are my mother tongues and for English I have a very advanced C1 level. I taught diving courses in English, French and Spanish for 3 years abroad. In addition, I have just returned from a year of exchange through the ERASMUS program in Dublin, Ireland.

We will also practice pronunciation.
