Understanding the Global System: Introduction to International Relations for ALL

I offer classes on History, Geography, and Political Science, with over 11 years' of experience in these subjects, both professionally and academically. I hold Bachelor's Degrees in both History and Political Science (from the University of Florida), as well as a Master's in Political Science, specifically European Politics (from KU Leuven). I have extensive experience in a wide range of historical and political subjects and have always had a keen interest in history and the social sciences. Additionally, previously I have been a journalist (dealing with Competition Law) and currently am an editor working on a wide variety of subjects for organizations such as the UNHCR and Goethe Institut, among others. I am capable of teaching and lecturing on numerous historical and political events and periods in history, with myself having specialized in European history, American history, African history, as well as the Medieval period and Antiquity.

Currently a final year Master's student in International Studies, I offer courses in Arabic, French and history-geography. My two mother tongues are Arabic and French, which I teach to different audiences (children, teenagers, adults), in school settings or in private lessons. It includes discourse throughout the political process in local, state, national, and international political systems, as well as how political information can be exploited for political ends or to achieve political goals. People with a background in political communication may work in policy advice, foreign service, market research, public relations, journalism, and digital media, community organizing, lobbying, political campaigning, or other related fields. ▪️ The techniques used will improve your level of confidence in your public presentations and storytelling. ▪️ BUT! in order to achieve your goal you must master public speaking which is the process or act of giving a speech in front of a live audience. Public speaking is generally understood to be formal, face to face, speaking from a single person to a group of listeners. ▪️ Based on the student’s request, this course may also include some skills in Marketing, Promotion, Digital Optimization, and SEO, where you will earn: • An integrated digital marketing strategy based on your own organizational context. • Skills to effectively analyze and leverage data to make breakthrough data-driven decisions. • A future perspective on marketing and an overview of how to use emerging digital channels and technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and chatbots, within your organization. • Accept the challenges and opportunities of disruptive technology in your digital marketing strategy.

History is one of the most important subjects for any student to understand. In addition to being part of a student's core curriculum, an understanding of history is essential for viewing the world in an informed manner. Through this course, we will learn about US & European History at the middle and high school levels. Rather than exploring history through dates and memorization, we will view history through the lenses of causation, continuity and change over time, and comparison.

Passionate about history, I am at your disposal for any help you would need for the writing of your presentations, end of studies and dissertations in EDM / geography / human sciences and French. This is a class to get a 360 understanding of what is the European Union: origins, institutions, challenges, its place in the international system, its key legal texts. It is a perfect introduction to the topic for young people and adults.

We will be focusing on history and the important human connection intertwined with each. This will give us a deeper understanding of the customs we have and seeing how they evolved to our present era. Everyone who engages with politics (which is to say, everyone) has an ideology. But not everyone is conscious of- let alone consistent in their ideology. In fact, most people’s conscious politics are nothing more than an inconsistent aesthetic. But anyone who has a world they long to see owes it to themselves to at least be self aware of their own ideology, and they should probably also familiarize themselves with others as well. I can help on both fronts. This 10-session class serves as an introduction to the concept of political ideology. We will begin with a brief overview to various major academic theories of ideology, before moving on to a taxonomical survey of different ideological genuses and families, both “thick-centered” ideologies, that is, ideologies with a comprehensive core specific enough that they can stand on their own as it were, such as liberalism, conservatism, socialism, and fascism, and “thin centered” ideologies, which have much broader and hence much less specific cores, and hence must attach themselves to other thick centered host ideologies in order to fully manifest themselves, such as populism, nationalism, feminism, and ecologism.

This course introduces secondary and sixth-form students to the evolution of global civilizations, with a focus on comparative history, political thought, and social transformation. Drawing on 30+ years of experience teaching History and Liberal Studies in Hong Kong—including at A-Level and university level—I guide students through themes such as colonialism, revolutions, global conflicts, and modern political ideologies. Each lesson combines primary source analysis, critical discussion, and structured writing skills (essays, arguments, and document-based questions). Assisting with structure, referencing, possible sources to include, and checking spelling and grammar I'm currently undertaking a PhD in Global Environmental Politics at the University of Lincoln (UK) but based in Amsterdam. I have previously completed an MSc in Environmental Policy at the London School of Economics (LSE, UK) and a BA in Philosophy at the University of Bristol (UK). I have extensive experience teaching Bachelors students on Politics and International Relations modules, including running workshops on essay writing, setting and marking essays, and providing constructive feedback for improved essay writing. I can also assist students for whom English is their second language - to write essays in a more academic and formal style.
