English is an important skill for school, work, and everyday communication. In this one-on-one class, I want to help anyone improve their English in a way that feels comfortable and supportive.

Depending on the person's goals, we can focus on conversation practice, grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, or general English support for school. I adjust each session based on the student's level and what they want to work on most. My goal is to help students feel more confident using English by explaining things clearly, practicing together, and creating a low-pressure space where questions are always welcome.

Hi! I’m a UC Santa Cruz undergraduate who enjoys working with students and helping them feel more confident using English. I’m patient, easy to talk to, and I try to make learning feel comfortable rather than stressful.

When I tutor, I focus on understanding what the student needs most and adjusting my approach to match their pace. I like keeping sessions relaxed and supportive, while still making sure we’re making real progress.

I work well with students who may feel nervous speaking English or who just want extra practice and encouragement. My goal is to help students feel more confident communicating in English over time.

We watch or read materials, such as videos, articles, stories, poems, caricatures, then discuss them; we act out situations from everyday life; we take positions and practice debates. However, this doesn’t mean that we just practice speaking. I also make sure the learner is not running in circles. I’m here to ensure that they do not keep repeating the same mistakes or keep using the same expressions over and over in conversation.
In order to keep making progress, I take my student on a journey that involves:
• Improving their grammar.
• Fixing their pronunciation.
• Enriching their vocabulary by learning to use new words and common idioms.
By the end of this course, you should be able to speak English fluently and confidently.
