Folklore from the south of the world – Music Lesson

I am Chilean and I am fan and player of the music of the southern cone: Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. Specifically I can help you learn tango, cueca, milonga, murga, boleros and tonadas. To a lesser extent I can help to learn Afro-Peruvian and bossa nova.

The lessons I offer can include musical practice, rhythms, progressions and typical melodies, as well as the study of the history of the musical genres and the culture associated with them.

If you want to nurture your career as a musician with other genres or if you are an amateur musician with an interest in music from the south of the world, these lessons are for you. If you are not a musician and simply want to approach the study of the culture, I can also provide books, articles and videos relating to it.

I would love to contribute to the further dissemination of this folklore that I love so much.

I am passionate about the Hispanic culture. I am convinced that one learns best through cultural integration. I enjoy Spanish music, cinema, literature, philosophy, and I believe I have the background to provide the convenient approach to each student.

My mother is a language teacher so my education was very rigorous grammatically.
I like to explore the possibilities of the language, from traditional formal use to contemporary, colloquial or street use.

I have a vocation as a teacher, I enjoy interacting with people and helping others. I am good at working with children as well as young people and adults of all ages and genders. I thrive very well in a multicultural environment.

I am Tom and Spanish is my mother tongue. I am a Public Speaking teacher and I hold a Master in Philosophy. I offer lessons of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation, and whatever you need, to people of all ages and all Spanish levels.
I can explain varieties of the language as well as the Hispanic culture, providing different kinds of contents (books, music, films, etc.) according to the interests of the students. I can also teach pronunciation with accent from Latin America and/or from Spain.
