When I was a teenager I moved to Canada for six months to learn English, and even if I struggled at the beginning, pushing myself to have crooked conversation with friends was the perfect way to start mastering the language. I am an Italian student at Ugent. I give Italian lessons for those who want to learn the basics of the language (grammar, syntax) or improve conversation (diction, vocabulary, ways of speaking), listening and writing. The course is for all levels, I try to customize the teaching method according to the needs and level of the student. I also try to do a very conservative practical course on daily life to allow the student to get to an elementary conversation as soon as possible. If the student likes to learn about Italian culture, we can also talk about art, literature, cinema, music, gastronomic culture, Italian traditions, habits and customs and obviously also topics of interest to the student.

I'm an Italian student at UGent, currently pursuing my master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing. Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing. We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis. We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them. In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!
