My master software is Ableton Live, and I also program in Max MSP, so if you feel like it, we can also explore the extraordinary that Max for Live (M4L) offers Ableton! If you are on another software I may be able to convey to you a number of main principles but would be less detailed in the knowledge. In the same way, if you have a synthesizer or other hardware that you want to understand better, I could give you the basic principles, and we can study the specificities of your machines together. Composing your own music has always been a very rewarding task. This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly by using computers to generate and play back your own music. However, to ensure that your music sounds really great there are many principles to be considered. I have had a great interest in composing for over 40 years, composing in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities. The class will be personalized to your particular standard and chosen style of composition. If you are a complete novice and have not used computers to create music we can use a web-based programme or a free downloadable programme. On the other hand, if you are familiar with a particular programme that you have installed on your computer we can work through screen sharing and sound sharing to enhance your compositions using my experience.
