As a qualified and experienced teacher in 4 different curricula, I know that IB Chemistry can often be overwhelming for IB students. In my class, we work on different techniques to learn the content, and I zoom in on topics that students need extra help with. We work on strategies to memorize and understand different chemical processes.

For exam prep sessions, not only do we work on the chemistry content, but we look at strategies to answer the different papers. How do you organize your answers? What is the best way to approach the different sections of paper 2? How do you approach the multiple choice questions from paper 1?

In addition to teaching in International Schools in the Netherlands, I was also a Chemistry Teacher assistant at University and Lecture at the University of Pretoria (South Africa). I hold a PhD in Chemistry and great experience in academia, where I developed my communication, research, writing, and open-minded skills. I acquired ample experience in academia, including both research and teaching, and growing experience in high school education in international schools (MYP and DP). I have a great passion for education and helping students to grow and develop to their full potential. My diverse teaching experience has taught me how to work with students from various backgrounds and various levels. During my tutoring sessions, I take into account what each student needs and adjust my lessons based on the need of each individual student.
