I'm Spanish and I'm currently living in Belgium because of studies in Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. I have been studying saxophone since I was 8 years old, so it's been more than 10 years.
I have won some competitions in Spain and I have some experience teaching other people.

Music is my passion and career and I am offering introductory music appreciation classes as well as advanced courses in music theory and music history in Bruxelles, Saint-Gilles.

I perform in Brussels as a violinist and I have performed classical, early music, and contemporary music. I hold degrees in music from Stanford University and the Royal Conservatory in Brussels where I have a specialized training in musicology, composition, and historical music. I teach students with a mix of ear training and more traditional approaches to reading music and learning music theory. High quality lessons for the serious learner and an opportunity to practice English! In addition, I was a DJ with my own radio show in the Bay Area for 5 years! Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history.
In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.

I have been teaching for more than 15 years, privately, in Brussels, and in New York in the past, more than 100 students.
I am a graduate of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, in baroque cello and harpsichord, but I play also modern cello organ, and piano.

Posture and comfort with the instrument are the foundation for playing the guitar. I often make the connection with other musical instruments such as percussion, wind instruments and singing.

Separating and understanding the roles of the two hands is another important step in the course. One hand plays the rhythm and the other plays the notes on the fretboard. There are many exercises to develop the knowledge and skills of both hands.
