Getting going with music making can be an overwhelming thing, but it doesn't need to be! Whether you're a complete beginner looking to start making your first few tracks, a music producer trying to expand your theory and composition abilities, or a composer attempting to dive into the world of audio production, these classes will be tailor made to support your needs and develop your abilities. I have a Bachelor's Degree in instrumental music composition from the University of Manchester, and a Master's Degree in creative music production from Catalyst Berlin, as well as over 10 years experience in both instrumental and electronic composition, audio production and music industry involvement.

I'm a musician and producer with a particular passion for contemporary forms of electronic music. My background is as a jazz instrumentalist (trumpet/drums/piano), but I realised early on that my real interest was composing music. I care very deeply about the enjoyment that can be gained from engaging in music making, and my educational position stems from that enjoyment. I want to help people discover the best way of making music for them, by helping them navigate through different methods, ideas and theories that will support their journey through music.

There is so much conflicting information when it comes to musical composition and audio production, and it is my goal to help people gain the confidence to know when to listen to that information, and more importantly when to ignore it.

Education

Master's Degree in Creative Music Production from the Catalyst Institute of Art & Technology in Berlin.

Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of Manchester.

Whilst in Manchester, I taught music theory, piano, trumpet and drums to multiple students for over 3 years.

I myself am a practicing musical artist, performing regularly across Berlin and releasing music on labels such as MSC Records and Ocre.

Hello everyone,

I give piano lessons in Lichtenberg, but can also move me.

Coming from classical school, I have the heart to transmit a good technique, but I often complete with solid notions of music theory. Basically my teaching aims to make you autonomous when you approach a new work.

Reading notes, deciphering, position of the body, working ranges - arpeggios - trills / work on the typical exercises of the Cortot school. Musical theory, how to build scales, alterations etc etc etc ......

Originally from Italy but born in Switzerland, Samuel aka Luca Torre did early in 1996 his first steps in electronic music for which he discovered a true passion. From trip-hop to techno going through more architectural sounds like drum ́n ́bass or Brackcore. Luca organized and participated in several events in Switzerland, in places like Loft Lausanne or even the Dachkantine in Zürich where he started being quite notorious

He arrived in Berlin in 2004 and continued to work on his dedication to music by becoming a sound engineer and a sound designer. His interest for synthesis and modular systems brought him to work for the famous company Arturia where he then developed Presets. He also worked in the film industry where he took part in various projects. Follows up some releases on digitals and vinyls on several labels and then began collaborations with various artists.

2016 is finally the arrival of it ́s big label project. After several cogitation years he finally runs and owns the label Clock'Art Records where beautiful surprises await.

His career is currently being boost by his passion, talent and famous techno artists name ́s recognition who took part in his projects.

Luca is a pure eclectic and avant-garde dj. He is real fanatic sound designer, as much as an architecht of new sound constructions. He is a true artist who will keep on impressing us for years to come.

Hello! my name is Sarah. I have a certificate in Classical Piano Performance. I have years of experience in teaching music in different languages (Arabic, English, German and French).
In 2020 I finished my master's in Music Therapy in Germany. At the end of my studies, I did my research on online music playing and wrote my thesis on music interaction through online platforms which gave me a great deal of experience when it comes to online teaching. I'm a DJ and music production instructor with 15 years of experience, and the founder of DJ School Berlin. I also run my own label and organise events.
My classes take place in a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, and are fully focused on your needs and goals. I teach both fundamental concepts and creative techniques, while supporting you in the development of your artistic project

I also compose music for media (trailers, films, ads, games, etc) and perform live focusing on sound exploration and experimental performance.
This means we can absolutely work on different musical genres or more unconventional, creative approaches.

Classes take place either in my studio in Kreuzberg, equipped with 2 CDJs, 2 vinyl decks, workstation, synths, drum machines and controllers or online with screen sharing with dynamic practice, TPs and follow up.
They are a mix of theory and practice, and we also cover the values and precepts of this art form, giving you lots of pro tips and tricks, as well as creative goodies (VSTs, effects, personal racks)
