Trusted teacher: Lesson: Electrochemistry Duration: 60 minutes Grade Level: Advanced Science / Chemistry (IGCSE, A Level, IB) Main Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students should be able to: 1. Define electrochemistry and explain its importance. 2. Describe the difference between electrolytic and galvanic (voltaic) cells. 3. Write half-reactions and overall cell reactions. 4. Calculate standard electrode potentials and predict the direction of electron flow. 5. Understand practical applications of electrochemistry in everyday life. Lesson Outline / Brief Notes: 1. Introduction to Electrochemistry (10 minutes) Definition: Electrochemistry is the branch of chemistry that deals with the relationship between chemical reactions and electricity. Key Concept: Redox reactions involve the transfer of electrons. Real-life example: Batteries, electroplating, corrosion prevention. 2. Galvanic (Voltaic) Cells (15 minutes) Composed of two half-cells connected by a salt bridge. Oxidation occurs at the anode, reduction at the cathode. Example: Daniell cell Zn(s) | Zn2+(aq) || Cu2+(aq) | Cu(s) Oxidation: Zn → Zn2+ + 2e− Reduction: Cu2+ + 2e− → Cu 3. Electrolytic Cells (10 minutes) Require an external power source to drive non-spontaneous reactions. Example: Electrolysis of molten NaCl At cathode: Na+ + e− → Na At anode: 2Cl− → Cl2 + 2e- 4. Standard Electrode Potentials (10 minutes) Electrode potential measures the tendency of a species to be reduced. Example: Zn2+/Zn: -0.76 V Cu2+/Cu: +0.34 V Predict electron flow: Electrons flow from Zn to Cu in a Daniell cell. 5. Applications of Electrochemistry (5 minutes) Batteries (Li-ion, lead-acid) Electroplating (silver plating, chromium plating) Corrosion protection (galvanization) Exercise (10 minutes) 1. Short Answer Questions: a. Define electrochemistry. b. Identify the anode and cathode in a zinc-copper galvanic cell. c. Explain the difference between galvanic and electrolytic cells. 2. Calculation: Given: Zn2+/Zn: -0.76 V Cu2+/Cu: +0.34 V Calculate the standard cell potential of a Daniell cell. 3. Application Question: Describe one practical application of electrochemistry in everyday life and explain how it works.

Trusted teacher: Undergo with your love, muse, partner, or all of these at once, a romantic course of painting a nude. One of you will give up their clothes for a morning, afternoon or evening, whilst the other paints them in the style of a famous nude portrait of their choice, (like Venus of Urbino - 1585 by Titian). Hosted by Artists and art historians Tonny and Janne Igbuwe. They will take you on a sensory journey through history, intimacy and artistry. You'll be invited into the Artist's studio (decorated like the chosen painting to the best of our ability) where you'll be received with a drink and a small appetizer. During the workshop, you will not only learn about painting techniques and portraiture, but we'll also explain the history behind the painting you'll be recreating. A spectacularly romantic experience to never forget. Location: Jan Zijvertstraat, Geuzenveld, Amsterdam. The workshop lasts for about 2 hours. paint your muse naked (For English above) Take a romantic nude painting course with your love, muse, partner or all of these at once. One of you will give up his or her clothes for a morning, afternoon or evening, while the other paints them in the style of a famous nude portrait of your choice, as pictured above(↑). Your hosts are artists and art historians Tonny Kwint and Janne Igbuwe. They will take you on a sensory journey through history, intimacy and artistry. You will be invited to the studio of the artist Tonny (which will be decorated afterwards based on the chosen painting) where you will be welcomed with a drink and an amuse. During the workshop you will not only learn about painting techniques and portraiture, but we will also explain the history of the painting you are going to imitate. A spectacularly romantic experience to never forget. Location: Jan Zijvertstraat, Geuzenveld, Amsterdam. The workshop lasts approximately 2 hours.

Bart - Amsterdam52€
Trusted teacher: - Dutch courses - All levels - Online lessons - Individual & Group Hi! My name is Bart and I have a passion for language and coaching/teaching. Having lived in several different countries I know how challenging it can be to learn a new language and to put it into practice. Especially Dutch, with it's unusual pronunciations and structures. During our lessons I will explain how to deal with such issues and show you that Dutch is actually quite a structured language and a lot less complicated that often suggested. I am a positive and optimistic person and this is also how I teach. I focus on how to do things right rather than wasting energy on why things are wrong. This creates a nice learning atmosphere and it also makes the course much more productive. I like to have an open communication with my students and encourage them to let me know what their difficulties are and what they want to improve. When learning a language it is very important that you can quickly put into practice what you have learned. This naturally motivates you to learn more. For that reason I find it important that it is clear from the beginning what the language needs and wishes of my students are so we can work towards your goals in an effective way and make sure you are able to apply what you have learned as soon as possible. The reason why I like teaching so much is because I enjoy showing people what they are capable of and to help them develop their skills. Another reason is that it allowes me to open the door for you to a great language and culture!

Eric - Amsterdam35€
Trusted teacher: Dear music lover, My name is Eric and I have been giving guitar lessons in Amsterdam for many years now! I do this on both acoustic and electric guitar. And in various genres: from pop to rock, from blues to funk. The starting point during my lessons is the music that my students like to play. So no boring scales with me, but songs that you choose yourself. In addition, I work on a broad basic technique that is necessary to master the guitar in the right way. Experience has shown that many students can play quite a few songs themselves within a few months. Age and/or experience doesn't matter, my youngest student is 7 years old and the oldest almost 70. If you are interested in taking a lesson (or several of course :-) or if you have any questions you would like to ask, you can always send me a message and I will contact you. I like to hear from you! Regards, Eric Dear music lover, My name is Eric and I have been giving guitar lessons in Amsterdam for many years now! I do this on both acoustic and electric guitar. I enjoy very much my weekly lessons with Bart. He makes learning Dutch and its culture a fun and entertaining experience, while speaking Dutch as much as possible, using English only when really necessary. The diversity of the exercises and the fact that he alternates often between listening, speaking, reading and explaining the grammar makes it very enjoyable to learn and practice. It also helps me keep my concentration without getting bored by long repetitive exercises. Bart is super friendly and patient and he makes sure to adapt the lessons to your needs from the beginning and throughout the course. I highly recommend Bart!

Can highly recommend Andrea. He was highly passionate about helping me improve and even spent extra time outside the lesson to help me fully grasp a topic or provide some extra material. I came in with pretty specific goals, and he listened to them and adapted the lessons to fit my preferences. On top of all that that his skill and love for the trumpet and jazz is obvious and infectious.
