As a pianist who has been performing/recording different styles of music for many years, I have developed a wholistic view of the instrument and its role in music. The goal of this course is that my students will build a strong pianistic foundation while playing the styles of music that inspire them the most. The structure of the lessons will be generally divided to two main parts: - Fundamentals of piano playing (including various techniques and methods that enhance strong piano skills and habits). - Working on the music that is most inspiring for my students (including studying written pieces, learning music by ear, composing, improvising, and many other tools). There’s a lot to be said about how a musician can make a musical instrument ‘speak’ and one of the goals of this course is to help my students find their own unique and authentic way of playing the music they love on the piano.
