I have been teaching languages for more than five years. I studied in the USA (Bard College New York), Germany (Bard College Berlin) and Russia (St. Petersburg State University, Russian State University for the Humanities) in the fields of art history, literature and pedagogy. I received a certificate of a professional teacher of Russian as a foreign language from M. V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. I am currently writing my doctoral dissertation and living in Germany and work as an editorial assistant in an art magazine in New York. I use the communicative method. From the very beginning I motivate people to speak and overcome the language barrier. It is important for me to develop all language competences: speaking, reading, listening and writing, so that a student could use the language fluently and understand different accents. I pay special attention to pronunciation and put sounds and intonation from the first lesson. The lesson lasts 60 minutes. Class activities are based on: textbooks; materials and manuals on grammar and vocabulary; YouTube channels for pronunciation and vocabulary; websites with exercises for developing skills in reading, listening, and using grammar. Before your first class, you will be required to take a language proficiency test. Topics are selected based on students' goals and interests. Much attention is paid to the study of the culture and traditions to give an idea of the context of language use.
