Steeds meer mensen willen met dieren werken, en dat is niet gek. Het is een uitdagende en erg leuke job. Er zijn ook steeds meer mogelijkheden om dergelijke richtingen uit te gaan, maar helaas blijven dierenzorg studies erg basic. Het is namelijk niet mogelijk om álles naar voor te brengen tijdens een beperkt aantal contacturen. En dat terwijl er zóveel te leren valt binnen de wereld van de Zoölogie, of dierkunde.

Deze cursus is ontworpen voor mensen die méér willen weten tijdens of na een studie, of studenten die zich goed willen voorbereiden op een uitdagende studie in de biologie. Voor zij die nieuwsgierig zijn geworden waarom dieren wetenschappelijke namen hebben, of waarom vogels eigenlijk reptielen zijn.
Voorkennis is niet verplicht, we starten bij het begin!

Aangenaam, bezige bij!

Mijn naam is Sharon. Geboren en getogen in het drukke West-Vlaanderen, maar mijn passie voor dier en natuur bracht mij enkele jaren terug naar het pittoreske dorpje Erdősmecske in het zuiden van Hongarije. Hier heb ik de luxe om dagdagelijks mijn grote passie uit te oefen: mensen informeren over dieren.
Dit doe ik via mijn sanctuary, waarin we gedumpte en verwaarloosde exotische dieren een nieuwe thuis geven. Meer dan 100 studenten vergezellen ons jaarlijks tijdens onze dagelijkse activiteiten en dit geeft mij de kans hen wat bij te brengen over dierkunde en hen een voorbereiding te geven op het leven als een dierverzorger.

Tijdens de Covid gekte besloot ik om enkele cursussen samen te stellen die dieper ingaan op materie die je anders niet ziet tijdens een opleiding tot dierverzorger, paraveterinair, etc. Hiermee hoop ik mensen die in deze sector aan de slag willen een duwtje in de rug te geven, en de algemene kennis op de werkvloer te vergroten.

Door mijn opleiding als Bachelor agro- en biotechnologie, proefdierverzorger, dierentrainer en dankzij mijn ruime ervaring in de dierensector ben ik er zeker van dat ik iedere dierenfanaat hier kan helpen!

Ondanks dat ik hier tussen de dieren vaak van me moet afbijten, hou ik al mijn geliefde studentjes heel! aarzel dus niet om vragen te stellen over mij, mijn werk en de cursussen.
