I am a Classical Philology student at the University of Valencia, with great teaching skills and a knack for explaining things. Classical languages are essential for learning our own language and a great help for learning other diverse languages. My teaching methodology is to consolidate the foundations of the subject with simple but well-explained examples, with the goal of improving the understanding of languages from their roots and helping the student acquire fundamental knowledge for continuing or deepening their study of the subject.

Hello! I'm Andrés, and I have a degree in Classical Philology. I teach Latin and Ancient Greek at all levels, both for academic support and for those who want to learn these two languages for pleasure. I like to teach these subjects using new methodologies that make learning them more enjoyable and enjoyable for the student. I also like to complement the teaching of these languages with culture and history classes, as it's very important to understand the context in which we operate in each class. An introduction to the basic syntactic and grammatical phenomena of the ancient Greek language. We use texts from the ancient Greek Literature (Ancient Greek History, Tragedies and Myths) as well as the Bible or Byzantine Hymnology in order to better understand the structure and way of thinking of the Greek language. The course is addressed to anyone who either has or doesn't have a knowledge of the Greek language. It is built as a personalized course, based on each student's level, motivation and learning needs.

I am a native speaker of Greek. I graduated from a Greek high school and, later, the University of Athens where I attended courses in pedagogics, psychology, and linguistics. I assign homework and after I receive it, correct it thoroughly additionally providing a lot of remarks/examples if they are necessary. During my lessons I use : - Skype/Whatsapp/Messenger to connect with you, - Google Docs to keep notes, which you can check at any time and they are yours to keep, - sketch board me to make mind maps to show connections between ideas, etc. - books, PPP, word docs, diagrams, pics, etc. - pronunciation/spelling/grammar games, - authentic materials were taken from websites. I adore my profession and desire each and every one of my students be satisfied with the lesson. That's why I make sure the atmosphere is stress-free and nice. I also want my lessons to be as effective and close to real-life needs as possible. Therefore, I make sure they are well-prepared, although they can be altered at any point, should such an opportunity arise. I have several years of experience tutoring students of different age groups in Latin and Ancient Greek. I am deeply passionate about these languages and I enjoy helping students improving at them. I believe that understanding the structure of a sentence is fundamental when approaching these languages, therefore this is an important focus for me. Hello, My name is Giorgia. I offer private lessons in Latin and Greek to those who want to improve their translation skills in classical languages. I have been dedicated to translating classical languages for over 25 years and offering private lessons for over 20 years. I have extensive experience in classical languages and literature. In fact, I attended the "liceo classico" in Italy, a country whose centuries-old philological tradition requires students on this course to acquire a solid competence in translation from Latin and Greek, as well as a broad knowledge of classical literature, by devoting nine hours a week to the study of classical languages, for the entire duration of the five-year course. I began teaching classical languages during my university years, while also studying other humanistic disciplines, such as philosophy and literature. In fact, I hold an Italian doctorate in philosophy and am currently completing an American PhD in comparative literature. I have never stopped offering private lessons in Latin and Greek. My translation method, tested over twenty years of experience which have confirmed its effectiveness, aims to enable students to acquire mastery of a rigorous translation technique based on the recognition of the quasi-scientific "accuracy" of classical languages and which, once acquired, limits the possibility of making translation errors to almost zero. This technique is based on respect for the syntactic structure of Greek and Latin sentences and on a careful examination of the arrangement of the linguistic elements which constitute them. By teaching mastery of the different stages of analysis of the Latin and/or Greek sentence, the translation technique that I propose allows the student to: - speed up translation time - limit concerns related to the apparent incomprehensibility of classical texts - strengthen knowledge of Latin and/or Greek grammar - acquire the correct method of searching for words in the dictionary - benefit from increasing familiarity in constructing the general meaning of the text to be translated - broaden one's knowledge of the classical cultures which are the basis of our humanist culture. This technique is aimed at all students who wish to master translation, also to succeed in the Latin and Greek exams for the Agrégation and CAPES competitions in Modern and Classical Literature, and at those who wish to cultivate this study in order to better understand our humanist culture which has its roots in classical literature.
