Due to the covid crisis and lockdown some students will be unable to attend normal music lessons. I do not want this to prevent students from learning instruments!

I am offering Skype lessons, with active involvement from me (piano or violin at the ready) in order to teach online during this time.

I have experience teaching in this field from the age of 15 and know the curriculums and methods like the back of my hand.

I am a recent graduate from Cardiff University, having moved back home to Reading. I have a passion for teaching and have been privately tutoring since the age of fifteen!

I am confident and easy-going, encouraging students to learn at their own pace but also pushing them to drive towards test results when they are ready.

In Oud, we will focus on:

Musical Maqams: Deepen your understanding of Arabic Maqams and how to apply them to playing. Musical Notes: Learn to read and perform notes on the oud with skill. Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years.

My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. With determination and hard work, significant progress can be made in a year, allowing one to play simple melodies.
