If you want to be able to interact with Italians quickly, I can give you some tips about correct pronunciation, fundamental grammar, and vocabulary, but also Italian art and popular culture, which I think is fundamental to understanding the mentality and the country that you are going to interact with. Hello parents! My name is Sandra. I am a native English speaker from New York State. I have a USA teaching license and a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Inclusive Education (Grades K-6 and Students with Disabilities) from the State University of New York at Fredonia. My experiences include teaching at primary international schools in Belgrade, Serbia for 2 years and 3 years at international schools in The Hague, Netherlands. Subjects that interest the student such as science, history or world topics can be incorporated into the lesson to broaden their knowledge. Support can also be provided in learning organizational skills, research, and mini projects for older children. I am available to help with studying, homework, or school projects. For online learning, I use a variety of platforms, websites, educational games, and e-books to reach the learning goals of my students. Additional homework can be provided if requested. Ciao! I have been teaching Italian for the past twelve years. I have taught privately and at language schools like La Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village in New York and ItalCultura, the school of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. During the first few lessons I will make sure you have the tools to pronounce and identify all the sounds of the Italian language. This step is essential! And it will make everything easier afterwards. When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. We will use real songs, real literature, do real conversation and storytelling. When you are engaging all your senses it is easier to keep your mind relaxed and to remember new words. I will customize my materials to your interests, needs and desired pace. And because you are learning from a native Italian you will also learn about Italian culture and history. You will absorb a way of thinking, not just grammar rules. I speak a bunch of languages so I know a thing or two about how tedious language classes can be. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad book ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of those dialogues are carved in my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien...” When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. I hold a degree in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (Foreign Languages and Literatures) from Università Roma Tre (equivalent to an American MA) and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media from Columbia College Chicago. I wrote a thesis about translating a long epic poem by W. H. Auden and I tried to ride a horse across America.

I provide private tutoring for students aged 7 - 25. I am originally Korean, I grew up in New Zealand and the United States. I like to make sure that kids below the age of 15 learn English by having fun, but also making progress while having fun. I believe the key to education is to make sure students are exposed to materials they love and enjoy (story books, movies, books). For students above a certain age, I can also provide tutoring to pass the courses at high school. I am a student of singing at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague. As a bilingual Uni student, I would like to offer English and Czech conversation classes because I think that speaking is key for learning and maintaining a language. My goal for the child is to become more confident in the language that they ́re learning and for them to be able to speak freely about multiple topics. English is a language every European should know, plus I will be able to teach your child how to speak with a British accent (as I was brought up in an English private school). I have obtained a Czech High School Diploma. My Czech class is for children who have some knowledge of Czech and want to improve their communication skills so that they can communicate easily with their Czech family and friends! Hi ya'll, I am a native Dutch speaker with several years of experience teaching foreigners (mostly expats) Dutch and English. Learn Dutch and/or English fast and efficiently. Learn it in your own way, at your own speed. I will teach you Dutch and/or English using the method that works best for you. I teach at a basic beginners level, intermediate and advanced level. The classes can take as long and often as you'd like. I am very flexible. Also, I can be quite strict so if you are looking for intensive guidance I can be the right teacher for you but if you want to learn the language in a more relaxed way (or for fun), that is fine as well and I will just go easy on you :) My classes mostly revolve around: grammar, pronunciation, daily useful expressions and vocabulary. Italian and Indonesian are not widely spoken languages, however, both the Italian and Indonesian community are spread across the world and I have noticed that many are the mixed Italian and Indonesian families living in the Hague! My classes are not special, they are simply meant for children and adults who wish to have someone who they can talk to and improve either Italian or Indonesian. My classes will “offer” you a friend who can stimulate you to speak the language and learn the everyday language without being particularly ambitious. Sometimes what it counts is to understand the everyday language culture and not being afraid to speak. That’s what you to grasp for my classes. Perfection is awesome but confidence and fluency are admirable and appealing!
