I’m Dr. Kay, a native English speaker from the UK living in Switzerland.

I’m a retired Naturopathic Doctor with 37 plus years in private practice. I also hold several other degrees, including a translation diploma in English, German and French, a Master's in Humanistic Psychology, and a coaching certificate.

After acquiring a diploma in translation for English, French, and German, I worked as a translator at UNESCO in Geneva for a few years before transitioning into a new professional field.

I have 29 years of ESL teaching experience under my belt. This has given me solid ground to stand on. I’ve given private classes to college students, taught ESL in language schools, on an online platform, in banks, and in companies.
Over the years, I've helped over 200 students pass their Cambridge exams, and I've taught more than 4,000 hours online on another platform. But numbers aside, what really matters to me is creating a relaxed atmosphere where you can learn and make progress without pressure.

As a TEFL-certified teacher, I specialise in Business English, IELTS, and TOEIC tests. I enjoy teaching and seeing students achieve the results they want.

I love exploring new cultures and meeting new people. I also enjoy gardening, spending time outdoors in nature, reading, listening to classical music, baking, and making homemade preserves.

Here is the pathway we will follow in our lessons!
We will start our lessons by learning the most basic skills such as correct pronunciation and simple grammar rules.
We will continue to improve our speaking, listening and grammar levels by learning new informations step by step.
Based on my 13 years of experience, I think that A1 level is a very important period in language learning. When learning any language, beginner level students should learn it in the correct order and important details should be explained well by practising previous ones. Students at more advanced levels, such as A2, B1 or above, also need to practice their skills at the previous level thoroughly to improve their language skills. I try to provide good teaching by paying attention to these important points in my lessons. I keep our lessons' notes in a word file. After our lessons, I send you back all the additional notes and exercises that we covered in our lesson as a Word file.

They are harmonized on the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They include the following six levels, in ascending order: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. These two diplomas are suitable for all ages and all audiences.
In addition, the DELF B2, and increasingly the DALF C1, allow students to enter French, European or French-speaking universities, and certain Grandes Ecoles.
