Art has remained an important part of all cultures throughout history. Art can seem intimidating, but with a little help and some confidence, anyone can create! In this course you will be introduced to several different 2D art forms, you will learn different drawing and painting techniques to give your art depth. You will be introduced to different art movements and artist who impacted these art styles. We will be making different styles of art such as self portraits, abstract art, still life, collage and more! Most importantly you will learn how to express your creative side and have fun while learning!

In the field of art you can find plenty of different styles and associate them with a specific artist. Specific styles we will go over include Impressionism, Abstract art, Surrealism, Pop art, Modern art, and Minimalism. As an artist, you'll need to learn how to explore varying styles and creative aspects. I've designed this course as a basic guide on exploring different ways to approach your art and honing on a specific style. You'll learn how to differentiate between various styles, try to develop art in specific styles influenced by famous artists or art periods, and to adapt your own style by using it in a unique way that will define your artworks.

My goal is to help each person develop their own expressive abilities, offering them the tools they need to grow confidently. We can focus on the fundamentals — like anatomy, shading, and perspective — or take a more expressive, storytelling-driven approach through comics and illustration. My lessons are open to people of all ages and learning styles, including those with special needs. Learning to draw means learning to understand yourself and the world around you. My teaching method is deeply student-centred. I believe that each person who chooses to draw is moved by a unique intention, whether it's mastering technical skills or exploring their own world through visual storytelling. That's why I tailor every lesson to support the individual goals of each student. For those who are more interested in improving their technical abilities, i provide structured, didactic materials. These include selected resources from established drawing manuals, as well as my own handouts and exercises focused on essential techniques such as anatomy, perspective, shading, the use of different tools and materials and much more. My aim is to make complex topics accessible and rewarding to learn. For students who are more interested in self-expression and storytelling, we work with creative expression exercises. These activities are more emotional and intuitive, designed to help students put themselves into their art, exploring their own identity, style and imagination. In all cases, I foster a safe and inspiring space where students can grow at their own rhytm, not following a one-size path.

In this class, you will learn the basics of how to paint a full-color and monochromatic portrait. You will learn the techniques of painting a portrait, color theory, blending, shading, highlighting, proportions, and proper mapping of features. This class will cover all the basics to further your skills to more advanced concepts. This class will be based on your progress and pace. Once a skill has been achieved, we will move on to applying it to different/more advanced skills. Our lessons at the beginning will be mastering shading and highlighting with shapes, and we will slowly advance to portrait painting since this is the basis of portraits. As an artist who specialises in realistic portrait paintings, I will give you feedback throughout our active practices to build healthy and correct habits.

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. With handmade projects and interactive lessons, I teach fundamental art which is easy on the eyes. I am state certified gifted in Visual Arts in the state of Ohio, but my focus has always been on illustration for children’s novels or creating works of peace and ease. The skills you learn through drawing can help you in many other aspects of life. In this course you will learn how to look closer at objects, identify proportions, and apply your own style onto your artwork. My course introduces form and structure to younger students, and by the end of each class the student will have created a beautiful artwork. I have a series of significant artistic achievements, having been awarded in the most prestigious international figurative art competitions—competitions that value study, hard work, and knowledge. These are systems and procedures taught only in Florence, where I also studied for a period. These techniques are not commonly known or practiced in schools in Romania.
