Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Have you always wanted to make music without struggling with notes and sheet music? Are you looking for creativity and do you want to dream away on the music you play yourself? Then learn to improvise intuitively on the piano with me. You can start with this if you have no experience at all, but also if you already have musical experience on the piano or on another instrument. During these lessons you will learn step by step how to play improvisations with two hands and from there you can further develop your musical story.

About Me

My name is Kris. I'm passionate about music and play acoustic folk music in different bands. Music is my life and as a musician I can be creative and share the joy in playing music. I love to play in the balfolk scene in which people dance to live folk music inspired by Western-European folk music traditions. The interaction between me as a musician and the dancers on the dance floor is amazing. Together we can create a social settings in which people can enjoy the music and share happiness.

Education

Scandinavian Folk music education - Folkhögskola Sweden. During this study I focused on instrumental techniques, music theory, arranging music and playing together as a group.

Experience / Qualifications

- I have played both at national and international venues and festivals (e.g. Belgium, Germany, Sweden)
- I have recorded 3 studio albums and 1 EP with two different bands
Get to know the piano as a versatile instrument where you can play chords as well as melodies. If you want you can learn sheet music and music theory with me, but it is also very possible to learn piano without sheet music. Music is ultimately about sound so you can learn a lot by playing and replaying. The most important thing when learning music is to enjoy playing at the level you are at that moment. The word 'playing' is important. Playing indicates that you enjoy the music. My style as a teacher is therefore to always motivate, no matter what level you are at that moment. That way, making music remains fun and you can continue to enjoy the music you make. The art of learning an instrument is mainly in persevering with playing and choosing a next goal that is both challenging and achievable in the short term.

I have been playing mandolin in various folk bands for many years and am happy to share my joy for this instrument with anyone who wants to learn it. This instrument is easier to understand than a guitar, and smaller to carry. It has a beautiful sound and you can play this instrument in many different styles. From classical to folk, from jazz to bluegrass. So much is possible! You indicate what music you like and I will help you on your way as a musician. With patience and attention, and passion for the music. If you like, I can help you with music theory and you can learn to read sheet music. I can also give you music lessons entirely by ear, because you can enjoy playing the mandolin even without theory and sheet music. The mandolin can also be an interesting instrument if you someday want to learn to play the violin. The reason for this is because the tuning of these instruments are the same. The advantage of the mandolin is that you have frets (similar to a guitar), which means you have to put less effort into playing in tune compared to the violin. If you later switch from the mandolin to the violin, you will understand the strings, and therefore where to find notes on your instrument, much better. Once you improve your violin technique, you can easily transfer all the songs you can play on the mandolin to the violin.

MAO on Ableton & Reaper: from the first note to the final mix: creative, technical and tailor-made coaching
Do you want to learn how to compose, mix or finalize your tracks with real sound? Are you looking for someone who can explain things clearly, listen to you, encourage you and help you move forward without going around in circles? Welcome. My name is Tom and for 10 years I have been helping artists and enthusiasts create their music, better use their tools (Ableton, Reaper, Logic, etc.) and, above all, find their own sound. · A clear, personalized method, at your own pace · Solid foundations if you are a beginner (handling, composition, arrangements, etc.) · Mixing and mastering courses · Tools to unlock your creativity · And an artistic eye to help you achieve your vision Whether you are a complete beginner, with no knowledge of computer music or music, I will guide you step by step so that you quickly feel comfortable with the tools and can create your first pieces. If you're self-taught, you may have already accumulated a lot of knowledge, but in a somewhat disorganized way: together, we'll structure all of that, clarify your basics and solidify your approach. And if you are an artist already on the path, with projects or a vision under construction, I help you refine your universe, professionalize your sound, and go further in your artistic direction.

Guitar workshops: personalized lessons / private training
Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points: -Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear - Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords - Left / right hand coordination and rhythm exercises for the right hand - Learning of different pieces of your choice - Left hand control exercises, speed and precision - Learning arpeggios - Work around muscle memory - Learning improvisation, musical play with others - Ear training: use your ears to find chords, melodies, sounds and techniques used -Spend a pleasant moment of exchange, without unnecessary institutional pressure, while obtaining concrete results -Understand and discover the many facets of an exciting and user-friendly instrument - Benefit from personalized advice on your posture and certain pitfalls to avoid when starting alone -Adjust and clarify your self-taught knowledge - Learn tablatures / tabs & in English. Note : - Possibility to use the guitar available on site, during the test phase. - As our teacher is also a singing teacher, it is possible to combine the two disciplines: guitar + vocal instrument, and to work on synchronization, style and accuracy. - Possibility of offering this course (birthday, party, Christmas, event ...) to the person of your choice. THE TEACHER : Trained in Grande Ecole post-preparatory classes & Ivy League university in the United States, our teacher has specialized and has worked for more than 15 years, in Europe and North America, in the field, in renowned international public and private establishments, with careful pedagogy and methodology as the watchwords. PLACES : - Locations: Geneva-Lausanne-Friborg-Neuchâtel-Montreux-Bâle-Sion-Sierre-Morges-Bienne. But currently, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid. These sessions also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they have the advantages of direct (example: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (ex: loss of travel time), with additional advantages (ex: of notes on the chat, which can be reread afterwards). In this context, these videoconference sessions for which you have requested me, seem to arouse a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). At your request, I therefore continue to offer them.

Regular piano lessons too difficult? Then try piano lessons with me!
In piano lessons, we use the book method of Notus or Hal Leonard. Everything is explained step by step and you gradually learn to read music and know the piano. At the start of our lessons we'll take a look at what is important to you. What goals do you want to set, and what feels achievable and comfortable? We set long-term goals of, for example, a year. Completely tailored to where you are at, right now. During the lessons I am patient, motivating, encouraging, and complimenting. I'll point out what could be better, and also pay attention to how you can play more easily. And much more. Tailored to your needs and wishes.

Music Theory and Ear Training Classes - Teoria e solfeggio
Hello! Being a singer and a singing teacher, many many times I have found myself in the situation of having to work on ear training, or solfège, or music theory... or all the above listed! Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but in 2023 I feel like it’s a pity that these subjects still are looked at with such a fear. I want to prove to you that building this basic knowledge can be easy, accessible, and not heavy at all! My program is not fixed: I’ll build it on your specific needs, whether they are preparing an exam, curiosity, or getting better at pitch matching... we will discuss it together. I have many books and materials, and I honestly prefer to draw blackboards by myself a lot of times. Unless you want to, I won’t ask you to buy any material, so the only cost that you will have to sustain is for the time of the class.

Music Production classes for ALL levels. Personalized and tailored to what you want to learn (Pre-production, Recording, Editing).
My approach as a teacher: I teach through practice and creativity. I believe the best way to learn music is by making music. My classes are tailored to the student's interests and level: you can come with an idea in mind or a project already underway, and we'll work together to take it to the next level. I'm interested in training musicians with judgment, sensitivity, and real tools to thrive in the industry. Teaching techniques and methods: • 100% personalized classes, focused on your goals. • Work with DAWs (Ableton Live, Studio One, Pro Tools) and real recording tools. • Song analysis, structures, harmony, sound design and mixing. • Development of artistic identity and guidance in creative processes. • Constant feedback and focus on your own projects if you wish. What are the classes like: Each class has a practical and dynamic approach. We can work on singing, guitar, composition, production, recording, mixing, and applied music theory. The idea is to progress step by step, without losing sight of your style and interests. Who are the classes for? My classes are aimed at: • People who are passionate and want to learn about music. • Musicians who want to start producing their own songs. • People interested in music production from scratch. • Artists who already have songs and want to improve their sound. • Self-taught students looking for more structured guidance. • You don't need previous experience or professional equipment: just a desire to learn.

Guitar Lessons for any age or standard, just enthusiasm is needed
I have been playing guitar for over 30 years. Starting when I was 15 I walked 5 miles to pick up my first electric guitar and tried to learn all the Beatles songs I was listening to. Since then I have grown and developed new musical tastes and played in several recording bands. I am teaching my two children guitar and would love to share my love of music and the guitar withh other people/children. I thought this would be a great way to do it!!!
