English Lessons for children/teenagers with a native English speaker

I am an Irish student currently on my Erasmus year in France. I study English literature and French. I aim to become a teacher in the future. I have quite a bit of experience with children: I have completed work experience in a local primary school, I gave private english lessons to refugee children in my local area, I worked as a counsellor in a Summer camp in New Jersey, USA, Summer 2018.
My aim is to teach children English in a relaxed and fun environment, keeping them focused with games and fun activities while improving their grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. I will assign some small homework assignments after each session in order to keep them practising their English when I am not with them.
I will keep track of the children's progress for myself, themselves, and their parents.

3 good tips to learn a language

1) Listen a lot

This is essential. And easy, for English. You can watch movies or series, subtitles in French at first then in English when you are more comfortable. You can listen to the songs in the lyrics ("lyrics" in English).

2) Many speakers

Also essential, find a teacher who has a good conversation, or a friend, college... Speak even if you lack vocabulary. Mime the missing words, draw, make yourself understood at your level.

3) Read simple things

Books for children can be a wonderful tool of progress. Roald Dahl's books for example (Fantastic Mr Fox, Charly and the Chocolate Factory...) the series "the worst witch" by Jill Murphy. Comics too.
