PLAYing during learning the piano with experienced teacher for all levels of music lovers at home

I am a violinist and traveling teacher. I have played the violin for many years in several orchestras. The violin rep to me is the most amazing beautiful sounds that have been created. I love to teach students from the very beginning to help them achieve a good technique and musical ear. The first few lessons are so important to understand how the body works with the violin in order to achieve a beautiful tone and musicality later down the line. I also cater for exams with ABRSM and trinity exam boards I have currently moved to London to continue my studies of the violin with Fabienne Fauritte. My teaching style depends on how the student learns and I will adapt to their needs in order to help them achieve their potential.

Music is a valuable skill that aids learning in other fields too. I would teach basic music theory, and children's music, introducing basic music concepts. I have also attended a music conservatoire from Sept 2016- Aug 2021, playing the cello, and so can teach this for grades 1-3.

I teach beginning and advanced aspiring pianists of all ages (3+) with a focus on immersing students in the magical world of music and getting the best possible quality out of them by challenging to achieve more than assumed possible. Music is a soul-enriching experience and developing musical skills can be a great gift for a lifetime. With solo piano performance degrees from the Royal Academy of Music (London) and the Universität der Künste (Berlin) I am a highly qualified award-winning concert pianist with almost 20 years of teaching experience and a passion for education. My musical learning was also furthered by postgraduate musicological studies at Royal Holloway and serious interests in philosophy, religions, history, civilization, literature, poetry, law, languages as well as many other things. I loved my musical journey which included not only piano but also composition, the violin, recorder, flute, harpsichord and clavichord from childhood onwards. In the last two decades, teaching has been giving meaning to my life and I enjoy helping others to find fulfillment as well as joy in their learning. My teaching approach is comprehensive, builds up confidence and incorporates a multidisciplinary orientation thanks to which students get promptly enthused over their learning. There is a focus on enhancing musical understanding, developing or improving reading skills, building up technique, expanding repertoire in a healthy way and foundationally preventing or sorting out injuries as well as pain-related problems. Although my teaching style is primarily quality-oriented with regards to skills, I believe that happiness, confidence, results and a sane sense of achievement are important components to balance in holistic education and offer a non-judgemental, patient, kind, equality-oriented, multicultural environment in which learning can thrive. I encourage students to perform in concerts, festivals, exams and competitions. Many have won prizes in numerous competitions and passed exams with distinctions. Others have improved their technical skills as well as understanding of music, thus opening more doors and finding professional opportunities in the world of music.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts. I give private piano lessons for all levels and styles (classical, jazz, Latin, new age, pop...), as well as music theory, composition and improvisation lessons. Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. I successfully prepared the students with their Piano Exams like ABRSM, Trinity Grade, from grade 1-8, with merits and distinctions, and more advanced exams as well (Performance Diplomas). I teach for the Enjoyment of Music as well. I believe you can learn to play the piano at any age. My oldest student is over 75 years old and my youngest one has 3 years old. They made great progress, I am sure you could do the same. I've never met anyone who didn't have musical abilities! You can be a serious or a recreational player. The only requirement is the willingness to spend some time at the piano. I conduct my lessons using a combination of 4 cameras for optimum visibility, and a quality microphone which my students find very helpful. This allows them to see a very clear visual demonstration alongside my verbal explanation. I can confidently say that Online Lessons are the same as In-Person Lessons. CURRICULUM I do not believe one method works for all students. I have used many different lesson books and resources over the years. For beginners I like to use Alfred method books for basics concepts and for Classical and Jazz Piano technique I like to use ABRSM books (grade 1-8). If my student feels that they can learn better from another books, I am glad to adapt my teaching strategies to their needs. Along with the lesson books below, I use a lot of supplemental materials based on the students' interests. I also aim to teach their favorite songs as soon as possible. I like to clearly explain and demonstrate piano technique. In this way, the students are able to apply the information on similar passages from all genres of music.
