My goal as an ESL teacher is to help students become confident English speakers. Each lesson is student-centered, meaning I adapt my teaching method to fit the needs of the student. I believe that the most rewarding part of learning any language is being able to interact with other people. During our lessons, we will build a basis of vocabulary and grammar that will then be used in communication through speaking and listening.

Proper pronunciation is an important part of effective communication; therefore, I work hard to help students hear exactly how they can improve their speech.

I know that learning a foreign language can be intimidating, so I strive to create a friendly learning environment for all students!

About Me
I am from the State of Georgia in the USA, but I now live in Lisbon, Portugal. I am TEFL certified and I have been teaching English since 2017. I actually became an English teacher while living in Madagascar, which was an incredibly rewarding experience.

I am very passionate about my job as an English teacher!

This approach not only builds tremendous self-confidence but also boosts the child's understanding that they are cared for and their personal identity is more than just their academic abilities; supporting the whole development of the child.

Upon recently completing a Masters of Arts in Childhood studies and Early Years, my autoethnographic dissertation on supporting well-being in international schools with third culture kids demonstrates that there is a need for a new approach towards well-being in schools. Well-being support is necessary for all children and cannot be compartmentalized but requires an integrated and unique approach.

The goal of my teaching approach is to support students to have a happy childhood by helping schools to support their student’s well-being in a more integrated and engaging way since our approaches towards children greatly impacts their personal development.
