I’m a dedicated educator with experience working in elementary and middle schools in the U.S., supporting students of all abilities, including those with special needs. I am TEFL-certified through TEFL.org and have extensive experience tutoring English, essay writing, and test prep (including ACT and GED).

Since moving to the Netherlands a year ago, I’ve been embracing Dutch culture, history, and language while continuing to help students reach their full potential. In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). During my studies in Econometrics at the University of Amsterdam (graduated in 2015, MSc.) and in addition to my job as a consultant, I have always taught mathematics and statistics to secondary school students and university students (HBO and WO) with great pleasure. Ik werk graag doelgericht. De eerste stap is helder krijgen wat het doel is van de rekenbegeleiding en aan welk(e) rekendomein(en) gewerkt dient/ dienen te worden. Dit doe ik graag in gesprek met u, uw kind en eventueel (mocht u dit willen) de school.
Ook is het mogelijk (tegen een kleine bijbetaling) om een individueel diagnostisch rekenonderzoek (RD4) door mij af te laten nemen. Hieruit volgt een overzichtelijk profiel wat de rekenkundige ontwikkeling van de leerling en tegelijkertijd de mate van achterstand ten opzichte van leeftijdgenoten en het groepsniveau toont. Uit dit profiel is heel duidelijk af te lezen welke onderwerpen en domeinen op rekengebied achterblijven en waar dus extra aan gewerkt dient te worden.
Vanuit de gesprekken met u, uw kind en eventueel de school en/ of het RD4 rekenonderzoek zal een doel voor de rekenbegeleiding volgen.
Vervolgens stel ik een plan op voor 8 weken. Hierin zet ik de verschillende stappen van begeleiding die nodig zijn om tot dit doel te komen.
De komende 8 weken zal ik de leerling instructies en begeleiding geven. Ik kan hiervoor zelf materiaal meenemen, maar dit kan ook vanuit de school geleverd worden. Hierbij kijk ik graag wat het beste bij uw kind past.
Na de 8 weken van begeleiding is er een evaluatiemoment. Hierin zal duidelijk worden of het rekendoel behaald is of niet. Als het doel nog niet behaald is, kijken we samen of het doel wat bijgesteld moet worden of dat de inhoud van de begeleiding aangepast moet worden. Als er gekozen is om het RD4 rekenonderzoek af te nemen, zullen de rekendomeinen die betrekking hebben op het doel van de begeleiding nogmaals onderzocht worden. Hierbij krijgt u een veel specifieker resultaat en groei te zien dan wanneer er niet gekozen is om het RD4 onderzoek af te nemen.
Na de evaluatie zal besproken worden of de begeleiding afgerond kan worden, de begeleiding nog verlengd zal worden of dat er andere stappen nodig zullen zijn.
