Violin and Viola lessons for all ages and levels in The Hague and surrounding area

You can choose one or both of the following subjects: Harmony (chord/scales, tonalities/progressions, modulations, etc.) and/or Solfège (rhythm/aural skills, pitch/sight-reading, writing scores...). The method I use also has an online audio (play along), so you can also practice in your house, play/sing along with the online audio: Classical and/or Jazz music theory; In any case, fun is paramount! There's also the possibility to learn about Harmony and Keyboard Voicings (Chords/Harmony), and/or Jazz Hanon (Chord-Melody). These methods can be put into practice with Harmony Progressions (also with your own Compositions/Tunes, etc.), so we we can see how Harmony works with the concept of Functional Harmony and beyond. The lessons are for all ages/levels and are taught in Dutch, English, Spanish, Catalan or Portuguese. Online lessons are also possible via Skype, Zoom or Face Time!

I'm offering productive music lessons in a friendly environment. I'll guide your development from any level. I treat every student as an individual, and I adapt my approach accordingly - whether making music is your hobby or you have rather serious plans with it. Depending on what you aim for, I'll choose nice pieces/songs and interesting exercises. I always care about leaving my students with the necessary tools for practice on their own when I'm not around to guide them. You'll learn a stable intonation, and develop your rhythmical sense, musical interpretation, good posture, and apparatus that works for you individually. Together we can go not only for classical but also pop, rock or film music. What you might also enjoy during the lesson is playing together in a duo with me - so you can experience making music with another person, which is super fun! There is many fantastic advantages to learning music, such as the growth of your musical taste and artistic sensitivity, and as even science proves - enhancement of your brain capacity. I did my first bachelor in modern flute in Madrid (RCSMM), graduated from my master in Zürich (ZHdK) and am currently doing a bachelor in Historical Informed Performance Practice (HIPP) on historical flutes at the Koninklijk Conservatorium den Haag. I have more than 10 years of teaching experience, and I keep learning and educating myself pedagogically in order to find the best balance and way to teach for my students. I am currently studying at The Royal Conservatoire in Den Haag and I offer violin and piano lessons for all levels and all ages ! I have experienced in teaching since several years, in music schools and in private ! I would be very happy to share my passion with you and teach you one (or both!) of these beautiful instruments! I like to adapt my pedagogy and my program to each student in order to make them feel comfortable and willing to learn ! For beginners, I will also teach them the basics of solfège. (for more advanced student as well if this is needed of course! ) My lessons are available in French, English and Italian.

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts.
