As I have taught students who not only do music as a hobby, but also students with serious career plans in music, I am open to various styles of playing guitar (jazz, blues, fingerstyle, and other popular genres) to all levels. My approach is heavily focused on individual student's goals and needs: If you are just starting to play the instrument, for instance, we will focus on learning the basic technique through simple and easy songs. I f you are intermediate or advanced player already, we will focus on refining your already existing knowledge and find improvements to work on. Or, we can focus on specific themes, for instance improvisation, transcribing, and so on. I also enjoy music theory very much and as I too struggled with grasping the concept when I was younger I am now more than happy to be able to present the world of music theory to anyone who is interested. We can begin with the basics that can help you improve on your instrument or we can dive deeper into more advanced fields of jazz theory. Whether you would like to learn music theory for practicality or you have an exam soon and would like to revise/learn more, I am more than happy to help you out on your music theory journey.

Hello! I'm a professional Flutist from Italy currently living in Groningen. I got my Bachelor and Master in Conservatorio "G. Cantelli" of Novara, Italy. Since January 2021, I moved to Groningen where in 2023 I completed a Master of Music in Flute in Prins Claus Conservatoire. During my studies, I included many pedagogical courses, exploring different teaching methods and approaches. Teaching has always been a relevant part of my work as a musician. I offer Flute and Music Theory lessons for all the levels and ages, both live and online. I'm dynamic, passionate and flexible. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else.
