About Me

Nikos born in Volos (Greece) in 1987. Nikos began his guitar studies at early age at the Municipality Conservatory of Volos (Greece).
He was for many years in the national choir of Volos making concerts in many cities in Greece.
In 2009 he graduated Municipality Conservatory of music in Greece, obtained Guitar Diploma with Great Distinction and 1st prize. During his studies he attended many master classes with great Guitar soloist and Teachers such as Oscar Ghiglia, Roland Dyens , Marco Socias, Evagellos Asimakopoulos, Thanos Mitsalas.

He took part in many national and international guitar competitions and chamber music competitions obtained 1st and 2nd prizes. His performances including solo concerts and chamber music, collaborating with important musicians.
He took part in many recordings for greek traditional music, making his own transcriptions and arrangements.

Music is a dynamic art, and is my believe that it is how it should be taught. Practice is as necessary and important as theory, and sometimes even more. Beginner students start playing guitar within the first month, and not long after that they are able to compose their own music. My purpose is that the student open all the possibilities this instrument offers, and not just learn to play 3 chords; in music everything is possible when you know how and when to do it.

La música es un arte dinámica, y por ende es así como me gusta enseñarla. La practica es igual de necesaria e importante que la teoría, a veces hasta más. En mi curso el estudiante puede tocar desde las primeras clases, y en un punto no muy lejano componer su propia música. En cuanto a guitarra, mi propósito es que el estudiante se abra a todas las posibilidades que este instrumento ofrece, no solo a tocar 3 acordes; dentro la música todo es posible, todo lo puedes hacer siempre y cuando sepas como y cuando hacerlo.

I started my musical studies at the age of 10 at the Conservatory of Milan (Italy) where I graduated with the highest marks and honors in July 2013. In the same school I also concluded my Master in performance practice with highest marks and Great Distinction in October 2016. During the last year I got a second Master at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels with Highest Distinction under the guidance of Antigoni Goni. I'm now a Postgraduate student in the same institution, focusing my attention on teaching research for chamber music. I attended masterclasses with Andrea Dieci, Bruno Giuffredi, Lorenzo Micheli, Matteo Mela, Carlo Marchione, Giulio Tampalini, Francesco Molmenti, Marcin Dylla, Pavel Steidl, Margarita Escarpa, Leo Brouwer, Sergio and Odair Assad, Elena Papandreu.
I participated and won many competitions in Chamber music category between 2012 and 2015.

I got my High-School Degree in Pedagogic science and I have always had a particular predisposition to teach. I started teaching at the age of 20 in Private Academies and Music Schools in Italy. I have The age range of my students was between 6 to 70 years old. I base my all my lessons on the interests and personal requests of each student, focusing on the importance of being able to read music scores through the importance of solfeggio and music theory. I'm very openminded to any kind of music style (from Baroc music to Spanish/Brasilian popular music) and I think the most important thing is to accept student's motivations.

I can teach on Tuesday and Thursday (preferably) and on the other days after 18:00.

I consider music as one of the most dynamic arts there are, and that's how I like to teach and share it. My method is effective because I focus on the practice as much as the theory; spotting the needs and strengths of the student, so they can start playing since the first month end even making their own music in up to three months of class, learning that the instrument has much more to offer than what they tell us and that in music everything's possible, you just have to know when and how to do it.

Mi método es efectivo, ya que me concentro en la práctica tanto como en la teoría; enfocándome en las necesidades y fortalezas del alumno, para que pueda tocar desde el primer mes y componer su propia música en hasta solo tres meses de clase, aprendiendo que el instrumento puede ofrecer mucho más de lo que nos dicen, y que en la música todo es posible, solo hay que saber como y cuando hacerlo.

Posture and comfort with the instrument are the foundation for playing the guitar. I often make the connection with other musical instruments such as percussion, wind instruments and singing.
