I gathered experience in tutoring whilst completing my Bachelor's degree in Edinburgh and during my Masters degree here in London. My students ranged from beginners looking to learn the basics in order to continue studying Italian in university; intermediate professionals looking to become proficient in business Italian, to advanced people wanting to improve their pronunciation prior to go on holiday to Italy.

I worked in equity sales for a few years following the completion of my Master's degree and I am currently taking a career break.

I am a tutor of Italian and English as a foreign/second language. I had the opportunity to teach in different contexts with multicultural groups of students from many countries and backgrounds. I am currently teaching Italian to individual students and corporate clients with different language requirements and purposes. I have also conducted a preparation course for Italian GCSE and A level exams in London.

I teach to all levels and ages using a communicative and student-centred approach. My lessons are very interactive and focused on real life and cultural situations.
I care about my students’ learning progress and achievements and I am keen to guide them in a friendly, dedicated and respectful manner. Moreover, one of my main goals as a teacher is to enable my students to enjoy the experience of communicating, thinking and reacting in a foreign language.

After finishing A-Level French, I moved to Paris in order to live in the country whose language and culture I have long been fascinated by. I worked there as an Au-Pair, and attended literature/philosophy courses at the Sorbonne, really securing my level of French. Since starting my English degree at university, I have continued to take a French course to maintain the level I was able to reach.
I am keen to transfer my passion for the language in a way which can encourage students to engage their brains and appetites to acquire language and give them dexterity with it. My main aim is to develop a mutual confidence and provide a platform for the learner to spring off into a higher level of language.

Italian is my native languages, I have started teaching italian when I was at Uni in Coventry. Here I had the chance to practice teaching for a various of different students, from student to adult, from european to asian students. This helped me learn to overcome any difficulty that comes with teaching in a mixed class.

Before starting my teaching experience I have attended a training course which was focused in teaching using only the language without translating. Implication helps students understand and remember better as they have to find the rule by themselves instead of simply reading it through a grammar book. I am native italian but I am fluent in French and Spanish. I have an undergraduate bachelor in Applied Languages with Spanish and I study french since the age of three, hence I have also experience in teaching spanish and french.

Setswana is a rich, rhythmic language spoken in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Belonging to the Bantu family, it closely resembles other languages in the region.
I have found learning Setswana through several terrific teachers, thorough textbooks and daily life enriching.

Growing up in Botswana, speaking this beautiful and intricate language, or at least making an effort to do so, can transform the way you live in Botswana.
I have taught semester-long regular beginners Setswana lessons to children aged 7-12 and adults, with strong emphasis on understanding grammar by breaking it down into “formulas” for how to form tenses and sentences. I teach these and vocabulary through a mix of traditional explanatory lectures, practice exercises and creative games, accompanied by study techniques I have found very useful for learning foreign languages. I have also worked as a trained English tutor, and study linguistics at university, both of which have shaped me to better understand and teach language.

Each class will consist of grammar formulas (eg: basic conjugation in the present tense: linking pronoun [for the human noun class group, for example: ke=I, o=you, o=him/her, re=we, le=you plural, ba=they] + “tla” [as in “will”] + verb), some vocabulary words, spoken or written exercises or games to go through together and longer practice exercises to build independent confidence.
