My teaching philosophy centers around helping students discover their instinctive creative voices through experimental drawing techniques. I believe in the power of intuitive creation, where students are encouraged to move beyond traditional methods, tap into their creativity, and embrace innovative approaches to drawing. This process empowers them to build a strong personal style while gaining the technical skills necessary to express their ideas confidently. As an educator, I am committed to helping every student unlock their potential, guiding them in finding their unique artistic identity and confidently navigating their creative journeys. Whether you're looking to build a portfolio, develop new drawing skills, or simply explore new creative approaches, I offer a personalized, hands-on approach that meets each student where they are, helping them grow and evolve as an artist. I specialize in teaching non-traditional drawing skills that empower students to create distinctive, original art—perfect for building a standout portfolio. My approach goes beyond conventional techniques, encouraging students to explore their creativity freely and experiment with various mediums and styles. This method allows students to break away from traditional artistic constraints, discovering their instinctive artistic voice. By embracing experimental techniques, students can produce artwork that is innovative, personal, and dynamic, making their portfolios not just technically proficient but also rich in creativity and individuality. Whether you’re aiming to enter top art schools like Central Saint Martins or looking to stand out in the professional art world, my lessons provide the tools to create exceptional artwork that will leave a lasting impression.

Yan was very patient with my boisterous boys and did a good job of keeping them on task. She instinctively recognised that they had different learning styles and offered valuable feedback on how best to teach them.
